We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Events Manager to lead event planning and execution for our prestigious McKinsey & Company account. This strategic role requires a seasoned professional with proven expertise in delivering exceptional corporate events across various scales and formats, from intimate C-suite gatherings to large-scale conferences and thought leadership forums.
Account Management & Strategic Planning
Lead end-to-end event management for the McKinsey account, serving as the primary point of contact for all event-related matters. Develop comprehensive event strategies aligned with McKinsey's brand standards, business objectives, and organizational culture. Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders across multiple McKinsey offices and practice areas. Proactively anticipate client needs and provide consultative guidance on event formats, venues, and innovative approaches to enhance attendee engagement.
Event Execution & Operations
Manage diverse portfolio of events including client conferences, partner offsites, recruitment events, thought leadership forums, industry roundtables, and internal team gatherings ranging from 10 to 1,000+ attendees. Oversee all operational aspects including venue selection and contracting, catering coordination, audio-visual production, registration management, speaker coordination, and on-site logistics. Ensure flawless execution through meticulous planning, detailed run-of-show development, and comprehensive contingency planning. Coordinate hybrid and virtual event components utilizing appropriate technology platforms and ensuring seamless attendee experiences across all formats.
Vendor & Budget Management
Source, negotiate, and manage relationships with premium vendors including venues, caterers, AV providers, production companies, and specialty service providers. Develop and manage event budgets ranging from $10,000 to $500,000+, ensuring cost-effectiveness while maintaining exceptional quality standards. Track expenses, process invoices, and provide detailed budget reconciliation and reporting. Identify opportunities for cost optimization and process improvement while maintaining service excellence.
Team Leadership & Collaboration
Provide guidance and mentorship to junior events team members supporting the account. Collaborate cross-functionally with JLL workplace services, facilities management, hospitality, and project management teams to ensure integrated service delivery. Lead pre-event briefings and post-event debriefs with internal teams and client stakeholders.
Quality Assurance & Continuous Improvement
Maintain rigorous quality standards aligned with both JLL and McKinsey expectations. Conduct post-event evaluations, gather stakeholder feedback, and implement lessons learned into future planning. Track event metrics and provide comprehensive reporting on KPIs including attendee satisfaction, budget performance, and operational efficiency. Stay current with industry trends, innovative event formats, and emerging technologies to continuously elevate the event experience.
Experience
Minimum 7-10 years of progressive experience in corporate event management, preferably within professional services, consulting, or corporate environments. Demonstrated track record managing high-profile accounts and delivering events for executive-level audiences. Proven experience managing events across the full spectrum from intimate 10-person dinners to large-scale 1,000+ person conferences. Experience with both in-person and hybrid/virtual event formats.
Skills & Competencies
Exceptional project management abilities with meticulous attention to detail and ability to manage multiple concurrent events. Strong negotiation skills and vendor management expertise. Advanced budget development and financial management capabilities. Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills with ability to build relationships at all organizational levels. Proven ability to remain calm under pressure and problem-solve effectively in real-time situations. Proficiency with event management platforms, registration systems, virtual event technology, and Microsoft Office Suite.
