Job description

  1. Understand the L&T Heavy Civil Infrastructure IC EHS Integrated Management System (IMS) and ensure it is implemented throughout all L&T Civil Infrastructure BU operations and projects.
  2. Understand & promote L&T L.I.F.E.(Living – Injury – Free – Everyday) program and Zero Harm Vision 
  3. Ensure L&T L.I.F.E. EHS leadership training program is delivered throughout the projects. 
  4. Support project set up and early mobilization 
  5. Stop work if unsafe practices are witnessed and promote a ‘Don’t Walk by & Commitment to Action attitude’ at all times. 
  6. Co-ordinate all L&T HCI IC project EHS matters by receiving regular reports, making EHS visits, and ensuring that information is circulated to keep all concerned fully informed. 
  7. Carry out EHS Risk Management to ensure each project is audited twice in a year. 
  8. Provide Site based training to staff and workmen.
  9. Advice the Business Unit heads / Project Heads areas of weakness within the EHS IMS and implementation of the system. 
  10. Provide EHS reports to the HCI IC EHS Head, Business Unit Heads and project Heads to inform them of the status of EHS performance. 
  11. Co-ordinate the activities of independent EHS Consultants. 
  12. Generate an awareness of EHS as an integral part of good management. 
  13. Make recommendations to the appropriate management on all matters relating to EHS. 
  14. Support project incident investigations and review reports prior to issue to management. Attend all fatal and serious injuries cases. 
  15. Collate and collect accident, incident and near miss reports. Prepare reports and distribute information on EHS matters relative to the prevention of accidents and matters relating to general EHS performance to L&T HCI IC EHS Head. 
  16. Maintain effective communications with the Project EHS Managers, Project Heads, and Business Unit Heads & BU Heads to ensure an adequate flow of EHS information relating to the L&T HCI IC EHS performance. 
  17. Attend Business Unit EHS Management review meeting every 12 months
