The Team 
Alvarez & Marsal’s Energy team works with global companies across Oil & Gas, Renewables, Mining, Power & Utilities and Chemical sub-sectors to provide independent analysis and end-to-end support across business transformation programs. Pulling from Alvarez & Marsal’s restructuring heritage, A&M’s Energy Group combines the best of A&M’s bias toward action and practicality with deep industry experience as both consultants and operators. Our Business Transformation practice is rapidly expanding in the GCC, and we are looking for an Manager to join our Gurgaon/Bangalore team. This role offers the opportunity to leverage your business insight, analytical skills, and problem-solving abilities as part of a hands-on, high-impact team. You will work on projects across A&M’s global offices, covering the full project lifecycle, including market analysis, growth strategy development, operational improvement, and financial performance enhancement, to deliver measurable results for our clients.

How you will contribute
As a member of the Energy team, you will play a senior role in client delivery, team leadership, and practice growth.

Key Responsibilities
1. Client Engagement & Account Management
  • Lead client engagements across Energy sub-sectors, serving as a key engagement leader and trusted advisor to senior stakeholders
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with senior client stakeholders, supporting repeat engagements and long-term client development
  • Support account planning and business development activities in the Energy sector
  • Work collaboratively with Directors and Managing Directors on cross-border and multi-geography engagements
2. Project Execution & Delivery
  • Lead the design and execution of business transformation and operational advisory engagements across O&G, Chemicals, Mining, and Power & Utilities
  • Structure complex client problems and translate them into actionable workplans, overseeing operational, commercial, and financial workstreams
  • Review and develop high-quality, client-ready deliverables ensuring insights are practical, implementable, and aligned with client objectives and budgets
  • Apply robust project governance, risk management, and quality assurance practices
  • Coordinate cross-functional and cross-border teams to meet deadlines and project objectives
3. People Leadership & Capability Development
  • Mentor and guide Managers, Senior Associates, and junior team members in analytical approaches and client interaction
  • Manage resource allocation, performance feedback, and team development across engagements
  • Support recruitment, training, and knowledge-sharing initiatives within the Energy practice
4. Firm and Practice Growth
  • Contribute to the growth of the Energy practice through pitch preparation, business development, and client relationship activities
  • Lead or support proposals, RFP responses, and client pitches
  • Contribute to development of new offerings, methodologies, and thought leadership

Qualifications 
  • 6 to 11 years of experience in top-tier consulting/ advisory firms or relevant industry roles (strategy, restructuring, performance improvement, analytics, or operational consulting)
  • Deep expertise in at least one Energy sub-sector (O&G Upstream/Downstream, Chemicals, Mining, or Power & Utilities), with the ability to rapidly apply insights across adjacent sub-sectors
  • Demonstrated leadership in managing engagements end-to-end, including scoping, workplan design, team management, and client communication
  • Advanced hypothesis-driven problem solving and analytical skills, with the ability to frame ambiguous client issues, translate them into structured analyses, and drive clear executive-level outcomes.
  • Strong financial and operational modelling expertise, supporting business cases and executive decision-making
  • Exceptional executive communication and presence, including facilitation of senior-level discussions, negotiation of scope and recommendations, and development of high-impact, client-ready presentations.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple engagements concurrently, prioritize effectively, and deliver under tight deadlines and evolving client expectations
  • High standards of professional integrity, judgment, and discretion, with the confidence to challenge clients constructively and communicate difficult messages clearly
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, with preferred hands-on experience in Alteryx, Power BI, and Python
  • A strong team player with demonstrated ability to motivate and develop team members
