Job description

Job Description:

Senior Magnolia Full Stack Developer

Employment Type: Full-time

Experience Level: Senior (5+ years)

About the Role

We are looking for a Senior Full Stack Developer with strong expertise in Magnolia CMS to design, build, and maintain enterprise-grade web applications. You will work across the full stack — from backend module development and content modeling in Magnolia to building modern, performant frontend experiences — collaborating closely with architects, designers, and content teams to deliver scalable digital solutions. A key focus of this role is integrating Magnolia with Salesforce Commerce Cloud (SFCC) B2C to power content-driven commerce experiences.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain custom Magnolia modules, templates, components, and dialogs using Java and the Magnolia Content App framework
  • Build and integrate REST/GraphQL APIs to connect Magnolia with frontend applications and third-party systems
  • Develop responsive, performant frontend interfaces using modern JavaScript frameworks (React, Vue, or Angular) consuming Magnolia's headless content delivery APIs
  • Configure and customize Magnolia's content modeling, workflows, personalization, and multi-site/multi-language setups
  • Design and implement integrations between Magnolia and Salesforce Commerce Cloud (SFCC) B2C, including content/commerce data synchronization, page composition, and API-driven content delivery into the storefront
  • Implement and optimize CI/CD pipelines for Magnolia deployments (on-prem or cloud)
  • Collaborate with UX/UI designers to translate designs into reusable, maintainable components
  • Conduct code reviews, write unit/integration tests, and uphold engineering best practices
  • Troubleshoot performance, security, and integration issues across the stack
  • Mentor junior developers and contribute to architectural decisions
  • Stay current with Magnolia upgrades, modules, and the broader Java/JavaScript ecosystem

Required Skills & Experience

  • 5+ years of professional full stack development experience, with at least 2–3 years working directly with Magnolia CMS
  • Strong proficiency in Java and Spring Framework (Magnolia is built on Java/OSGi-like module architecture)
  • Hands-on experience with Magnolia's Content App, Light Modules / Light Development, STK or similar templating frameworks, and Freemarker/JSP templating
  • Solid frontend development experience with JavaScript/TypeScript and at least one modern framework (React, Vue, or Angular)
  • Experience consuming and building REST and/or GraphQL APIs, including Magnolia's Delivery and Content APIs for headless implementations
  • Proven experience integrating Magnolia with Salesforce Commerce Cloud (SFCC) B2C, including familiarity with SFRA/SiteGenesis, OCAPI/SCAPI, and patterns for combining commerce data with CMS-managed content
  • Familiarity with relational and/or JCR-based content repositories
  • Experience with version control (Git), build tools (Maven), and CI/CD pipelines
  • Understanding of web performance, accessibility, and SEO best practices
  • Experience deploying and maintaining Magnolia in cloud environments (AWS, Azure, or Magnolia Cloud) is a plus
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently in an agile environment

Nice to Have

  • Magnolia certification(s)
  • Salesforce Commerce Cloud (SFCC) Developer certification
  • Experience with Docker/Kubernetes for containerized deployments
  • Familiarity with DAM (Digital Asset Management) integrations
  • Experience with personalization/A-B testing tools integrated with Magnolia
  • Prior experience leading a small development team or owning architecture decisions

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience)
