Amazon is looking for a passionate, talented, and inventive Machine Learning Engineer to join our E3 team. You will work with the largest online retail search application in the world, both in terms of users, catalogue size, and computing resources, and your work will directly impact millions of customers. You will collaborate with recognized experts in science and engineering to apply algorithms and ML models.
You will:
- Work on projects in Machine Learning in Search space to create highly innovative customer experiences;
- Process and analyze large amounts of data to discover patterns, find opportunities, and contribute to seize these opportunities;
- Work closely with Machine Learning experts to validate models via statistically rigorous experiments across millions of customers;
- Work closely with Scientists to build scalable prototypes for testing. Integrate successful models and algorithms in production systems at very large scale;
- Work with technical and non-technical business owners to get things done;
Our team is spread across Luxembourg, Bengaluru, and Hyderabad.
- 2+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent
- Experience with data structure implementation, basic algorithm development, and/or object-oriented design principles
- Experience building and improving complex software systems for end users.
- Experience with Big Data, NoSQL, Map-Reduce.
- Solid knowledge of software engineering best practices.
- Knowledge of machine learning approaches and algorithms
- Experience on highly concurrent, high throughput systems and knowledge of complex distributed systems
- Experience in more than one major programming language (C++, Java, or related) and at least one scripting language (Perl, Python, or equivalent)
- Experience or interest in Document Retrieval (indexing), Search Engine Technologies (e.g. Lucene), or Document Understanding (Natural Language Processing) is desirable but not mandatory.
