Your role: Lead Software Engineer - Integration

In this role, you will own and drive the technical strategy for our integration landscape. You will be responsible for designing, building, and securing the "connective tissue" between our enterprise systems (including SAP) and our modern data stack. This is a high-impact role for a self-starter who enjoys deep technical problem-solving, from optimizing high-volume Boomi Processes to automating API lifecycles in Azure. While this is an individual contributor role, you will provide technical leadership, set organizational standards, and mentor peers to ensure excellence across the integration domain.

Your Responsibilities:

• Technical Ownership: Drive and own the end-to-end lifecycle of integration initiatives, ensuring scalable, reliable, and secure data flow across the enterprise.

  
  

• Architecture & Design: Design and implement complex integration patterns using Boomi (Atom/Molecule/Cloud) and manage the API ecosystem via Azure API Management (APIM).

  
  

• SAP Integration: Lead the technical design for SAP connectivity, specifically leveraging IDocs and enterprise connectors to ensure seamless business process integration.

  
  

• API Management: Own the onboarding/offboarding of APIs in Azure APIM, optimizing for performance, security, and cost-efficiency.

  
  

• Standards & Governance: Establish and enforce organizational standards for API security (OAuth 2.0, JWT, SAML) and integration best practices.

  
  

• Automation & DevOps: Drive CI/CD maturity for integration projects using GitHub Repos, Terraform, and automated deployment pipelines.

  
  

• Performance Optimization: Monitor and optimize high-volume data loads, managing document flow and memory usage within Boomi Molecules to ensure system stability.

  
  

• Collaboration: Partner with cross-functional teams to understand evolving business needs, translating requirements into robust technical specifications.

  
  

• Mentorship: Act as a subject matter expert, mentoring other engineers on Boomi development, and modern integration principles.

  
  

What You Need to Succeed (minimum qualifications):

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent professional experience.

  
  

• 8+ years of experience in Software Engineering/Integration, with a minimum of 5 years focused on the Boomi platform.

  
  

• Required Certification: Boomi Professional Integration Developer.

  
  

• Preferred Certification: Boomi Professional Architect.

  
  

What will give you a competitive edge (preferred qualifications):

• Architecture: Deep knowledge of Atom, Molecule, and Cloud architecture.

  
  

• API Management: Proven experience designing, publishing, and securing REST/SOAP APIs using the Boomi API Gateway.

  
  

• Connectivity: Expert-level understanding of SAP connectivity (IDocs), Event Streams, Enterprise connectors, Https connectors, and Agent Studio.

  
  

• Performance: Experience in optimizing high-volume data loads and memory management within Boomi Molecules.

  
  

Additional Skills/Preferences

• Experience with MCP server onboarding in Azure APIM.

  
  

• Familiarity with networking concepts (DNS, Load Balancing, VNETs) is a significant plus.

  
  

• Demonstrated ability to drive diverse groups toward a productive technical consensus.

  
  

• Comfort operating in a global, agile environment with a bias for action and continuous learning.

  
  

• Experience in the Animal Health or Life Science industry is preferred.
