Job Overview



Caterpillar Digital is seeking a Lead Software Engineer for the Digital Asset Management (DAM) platform



This role will lead the design, development, and integration of DAM solutions to enable efficient asset management, metadata governance, and workflow automation, supporting enterprise-scale content operations across global digital platforms.



Key Responsibilities



  • Lead design and development of AEM Assets (DAM) solutions, including asset workflows, metadata, and integrations
  • Build scalable solutions for:
    • Asset ingestion, processing, and distribution
    • Metadata and taxonomy-driven asset management
    • Content reuse and lifecycle management
  • Define and implement DAM architecture, standards, and best practices
  • Develop and optimize workflow-driven asset pipelines (upload → enrichment → approval → publishing)
  • Lead integrations across:
    • AEM Sites (content consumption)
    • Workfront (workflow orchestration)
    • PIM and downstream digital platforms
  • Ensure high performance, scalability, and reliability of DAM services
  • Drive CI/CD implementation and enforce engineering quality standards
  • Collaborate with Product Owners, BAs, QA, and Architects for end-to-end delivery
  • Mentor engineers and guide development teams on DAM best practices

Required Qualifications



  • 10+ years of software development experience
  • Strong expertise in:
    • Adobe Experience Manager (AEM Assets / DAM)
    • Java, REST APIs, and microservices architecture
    • HTML, CSS, and JavaScript
  • Experience in:
    • Metadata schema design and taxonomy governance (DAM-specific)
    • CI/CD tools (Maven, Azure DevOps)
  • Proven experience delivering enterprise-scale DAM or CMS platforms

Preferred Qualifications



  • Experience with AEM as a Cloud Service (AEMaaCS)
  • Knowledge of Workfront or similar workflow tools
  • Experience with AI-driven tagging, metadata enrichment, or asset automation
  • Familiarity with headless CMS, APIs, or GraphQL
