Key Responsibilities
- Instrumentation Design Expertise
- Develop and document instrumentation and control systems for Pumping Stations and Water Treatment/Desalination Projects.
- Prepare detailed deliverables including:
- Operation Control Philosophy, System Architecture, and Instrument Lists
- Drive Control Philosophy, C&E Matrix, and Valve Operation Sequence Charts
- Instrument Hook-up Drawings, Interconnection Cable Schedules, Cable Loop Diagrams, and Datasheets for various instrumentation and automation components.
- Design PLC/DCS engineering inputs for software implementation, such as I/O Signal Lists, Drive Lists, Signal Exchange Lists, and Annunciation Schedules.
- Standards and Compliance
- Ensure adherence to international specifications and codes, such as IEC, ISA, and ISO.
- Provide technical compliance with tender specifications and customer requirements.
- Vendor Coordination
- Create purchase requests for C&I items and review vendor documents for technical evaluation and approval for purchase orders.
- Finalize vendors for site execution by preparing Erection BOQ with detailed scope matrix.
- Conduct inspections and factory acceptance tests (FAT) for PLC/DCS systems.
- Cross-functional Collaboration
- Collaborate with Civil, Mechanical, Process, Piping, and Electrical teams to ensure all technical requirements are met.
- Address technical issues and approvals with clients, consultants, and inter-departments.
- Automation and Advanced Technologies
- Design automation systems in compliance with contract requirements.
- Utilize expertise in PLCs from Schneider Electric, Honeywell, GE, Rockwell, and Mitsubishi Electric.
- Incorporate IoT, industrial protocols (e.g., Modbus, Profibus, Devicenet, ControlNet, Foundation Fieldbus), and DCS/PLC third-party interfaces.
- Knowledge of ECS/SAS systems will be considered an added advantage.
- On-site Support and Flexibility
- Travel to project sites or client/consultant offices for document approvals and resolving technical issues during project execution.
