Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Lead Engineer – Supplier Quality Assurance / Supplier Technical Assistance with 6–8 years of experience in supplier quality, supplier technical assistance, and quality assurance for mechanical components. The ideal candidate will have hands-on expertise in Ferrous Castings, Forgings, Sheet Metal, Fabrication and Precision Machined Components, along with a deep understanding of APQP, PPAP, FMEA, and ISO/IATF standards.
This is a hands-on, leadership-oriented role responsible for Evaluating new suppliers and developing, auditing, monitoring and improving supplier capabilities to ensure product quality, cost-effectiveness, and timely delivery. The position involves close collaboration with engineering, quality, and sourcing teams across Marmon Group companies.
Mandatory Skills
· 6-8 years of experience in Supplier Quality Assurance / Supplier Technical Assistance for mechanical components
· Strong understanding of IATF 16949 & ISO 9001 quality management systems
· Proficiency in Ferrous Castings, Forgings, Sheet Metal, Fabrication and Precision Machined Component manufacturing processes
· Hands-on experience with Core tools of Quality, APQP, PPAP, FMEA, 8D, problem-solving methodologies.
Desired Skills
· Lead Auditor certification in IATF 16949 & ISO 9001
· Experience in new vendor development and supplier performance improvement
· Familiarity with Lean, Six Sigma, VAVE and Poka-Yoke methodologies
· Exposure to ASME, ASTM, Global quality standards and international supplier audits.
· Data Analysis and Quality reporting (Monthly and Quarterly)
· Strong business acumen and strategic thinking ability

Required Qualifications
· Bachelor’s degree in mechanical , Automobile or production engineering (preferred specialization)
· 6–8 years of experience in Supplier Quality Assurance, Supplier Quality, or Supplier Technical Assistance
· Strong understanding and interpretation of engineering drawings and GD&T
· Knowledge of measurement techniques and proficiency in using height gauges, micrometres, verniers, Gear profile measurements and CMM.
· Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity with problem-solving tools (Fishbone Diagram, 8D, SCAR)
· Strong attention to details and commitment to continuous improvement.
· Excellent communication, stakeholder management and collaboration skills with a proactive approach to problem-solving.
· Willingness to travel across factory locations domestically and internationally.
