  • Manage SQL Agent jobs, automation routines, and operational schedules.
  • Collaborate with cloud engineers to ensure optimal performance, security, and reliability in Azure.
Performance Optimization

  • Analyze execution plans and solve performance bottlenecks.
  • Implement best practices for monitoring, alerting, and optimization.
Team Leadership
  • Lead a team of database developers and/or data engineers, providing technical guidance and code reviews.
  • Mentor team members on best practices in SQL development, Azure data services, and optimized data design.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (application developers, QA, product owners) in an agile/scrum environment.
Governance & Best Practices
  • Ensure database solutions adhere to enterprise standards for security, reliability, documentation, and compliance.
  • Drive continuous improvement in database development processes and frameworks.
  • Participate in sprint planning, backlog refinement, and technical design discussions.
Required Qualifications
  • 7–10+ years of experience in SQL Server development and database engineering.
  • Strong expertise with Azure SQL Managed Instance; exposure to SQL Hyperscale preferred.

  • Experience working within an Agile/Scrum delivery model.
Preferred Skills
  • Experience with CI/CD for database deployments (Azure DevOps or similar).
  • Knowledge of Azure cloud components such as Key Vault, Azure Storage, and monitoring tools.
