Job Summary:
Troubleshoots, assembles, installs, tests, programs, and maintains electrical and industrial control systems to ensure equipment availability, reliability, and safety. Applies comprehensive knowledge of electrical systems, factory automation, and control technologies while working independently or coaching others. Adheres to all Health, Safety & Environmental (HSE), quality, and manufacturing standards to support safe, efficient, and continuous operations in an automated manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Health, Safety & Environment (HSE)
- Stop work and immediately report major injury hazards.
- Report all work-related injuries, illnesses, incidents, and hazards.
- Comply with Cummins HSE standards, policies, procedures, and regulations.
- Use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times.

Quality

- Perform work according to electrical schematics, control panel layouts, diagrams, operation manuals, and specifications.

- Provide feedback and inputs into Preventive Maintenance (PM) systems.
- Follow all process documentation and quality procedures.
- Raise issues to minimize cost, rework, and quality risks.
- Perform quality inspections as required.
Delivery & Operations
- Fully proficient in troubleshooting, electrical repairs, and maintenance of automated equipment.
- Maintain, install, program, and operate electrical and control systems in compliance with applicable codes and standards.
- Program and modify PLCs, HMIs, and automation systems to support optimal machine performance.
- Support automation enhancements involving vision systems, robots, leak testing systems, and other industrial automation equipment.
- Maintain clean, safe, and orderly work areas, including routine housekeeping and machine cleaning.
- Perform other duties as required to meet business and production goals.
Continuous Improvement & Teamwork
- Collaborate with peers and support functions to identify and reduce manufacturing constraints.
- Schedule maintenance activities aligned with production requirements.
- Diagnose problems, implement solutions, and improve processes.
- Participate in continuous improvement and Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) activities.
- Act as a technical resource and coach or instruct team members with less experience.
- Communicate effectively with operations, engineering, maintenance, and support teams.

Qualifications:
Technical skills
- Strong understanding of electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and control panel layouts.
- Proficiency in PLC and HMI programming (Siemens TIA Portal required).
- Working knowledge of MES systems and SCADA platforms (Ignition SCADA preferred).
- Familiarity with industrial communication protocols (EtherNet/IP, DeviceNet, Profibus).
- Hands-on experience with automation equipment including vision systems, robots, and leak testing systems.
- Basic knowledge of pneumatics, hydraulics, and mechanical assemblies.
- Strong electrical and control system troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to read, interpret, and apply technical drawings and documentation.
- Effective communication, collaboration, and teamwork skills.
Experience
- 4–6 years of hands-on experience in electrical maintenance, controls, and industrial automation systems.
- Experience working in automated manufacturing environments, preferably high-volume and/or safety-critical production settings.
- Practical exposure to PLC programming, SCADA/MES systems, and industrial automation equipment.
- Significant relevant work experience or specialized skills acquired through education, training, or on-the-job experience.
