Job Summary

Performs electrical maintenance and automation support activities to ensure manufacturing equipment is reliable, available, and operating efficiently. This role involves troubleshooting, programming, and maintaining control systems, PLCs, and automation equipment in a high-volume manufacturing environment. The position requires working with limited guidance while supporting continuous improvement and maintaining compliance with safety and quality standards.


Key Responsibilities 1. Health, Safety & Environmental (HSE)
  • Follow all HSE policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
  • Identify, report, and mitigate workplace hazards; stop work in case of critical risks.
  • Use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and promote a safety-first culture.
  • Apply safe practices while working with electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
  • Participate in HSE training and contribute to an injury-free workplace.
2. Quality
  • Apply high standards of workmanship and ensure adherence to quality procedures.
  • Perform work in accordance with electrical schematics, control diagrams, and specifications.
  • Support equipment uptime and conduct downtime/failure analysis.
  • Follow process documentation and provide feedback into Preventive Maintenance systems.
  • Perform inspections and raise issues to reduce quality risks and costs.
3. Maintenance & Equipment Support
  • Perform electrical repairs, troubleshooting, and maintenance of manufacturing equipment.
  • Execute preventive, predictive, corrective, and emergency maintenance activities.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable electrical codes and standards.
  • Maintain clean and organized work areas, including equipment housekeeping.
  • Schedule maintenance activities in alignment with production requirements.
4. Automation & Controls
  • Develop, modify, and troubleshoot PLC/HMI programs (Siemens TIA Portal).
  • Support MES and SCADA systems (Ignition SCADA preferred).
  • Work with industrial communication protocols (EtherNet/IP, DeviceNet, Profibus, etc.).
  • Maintain and troubleshoot automation equipment such as:
    • Industrial scanners and vision systems (Cognex, Keyence)
    • Nutrunners and ATEQ leak testing systems
    • Servo systems, conveyors, robots, and cobots
  • Support machine programming and automation improvements to enhance productivity.
5. Production & Continuous Improvement
  • Identify and reduce manufacturing constraints to improve efficiency.
  • Solve technical problems and implement process improvements.
  • Participate in Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Support automation projects to enhance manufacturing capability and performance.
6. Teamwork & Communication
  • Communicate effectively with production teams, maintenance teams, and support functions.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to achieve business objectives.
  • Complete required training and actively support team development initiatives.

  • Familiarity with industrial communication protocols (EtherNet/IP, DeviceNet, Profibus).
  • Hands-on experience with automation equipment including vision systems, robots, and leak testing systems.
  • Basic knowledge of pneumatics, hydraulics, and mechanical assemblies.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills in electrical and control systems.
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings and documentation.
  • Good communication and teamwork skills.
Experience
  • 4–6 years of hands-on experience in electrical maintenance, controls, and industrial automation systems.
  • Experience in automated manufacturing environments, preferably high-volume or safety-critical production settings.
  • Practical exposure to PLC programming, SCADA/MES systems, and industrial automation equipment.
