In this role, you'll work in one of our IBM Consulting FutureNow Centers, where we deliver deep technical and industry expertise to a wide range of public and private sector clients around the world. Our delivery centers offer our clients locally based skills and technical expertise to drive innovation and adoption of new technology.
As an Infrastructure Specialist for Cloud Platforms, you will manage and implement infrastructure solutions across various cloud environments according to established designs, ensuring scalability, reliability, and security. You will collaborate with IT teams to implement and integrate cloud infrastructure solutions based on existing designs.
Your primary responsibilities will include:
* Set Up and Configure Cloud Infrastructure: Set up, configure, and manage virtual machines, storage solutions, networking, and databases across different cloud platforms to effectively support business applications.
* Implement and Oversee Cloud Resources: Implement and oversee essential cloud resources such as Virtual Private Clouds (VPCs), Load Balancers, and Cloud Storage solutions to ensure smooth operations.
* Monitor and Troubleshoot Infrastructure: Continuously monitor infrastructure, troubleshoot issues, and maintain high availability (HA) and disaster recovery (DR) configurations to ensure reliable performance.
* Apply Security Measures: Apply and enforce security measures to ensure cloud infrastructure complies with organizational policies and industry regulations.
* Optimize Cloud Costs: Optimize cloud costs by right-sizing resources, developing cost-effective solutions, and monitoring usage patterns.
* Cloud Services Proficiency: Exposure to cloud services from providers such as Oracle Cloud, Nutanix Cloud, Alibaba Cloud, and others, with expertise in Linux and VMware environments.
* DevOps Practices Experience: Exposure to DevOps practices, such as continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD), with experience in using automation tools like Terraform, Ansible, and native cloud automation services.
* Cloud Migration Project Experience: Experience with cloud migration projects, including implementation and execution, with proficiency in managing Kubernetes clusters across various cloud environments.
* Cloud Cost Optimization: Experience with optimizing cloud costs by right-sizing resources, developing cost-effective solutions, and monitoring usage patterns.
* Automation Tools Proficiency: Exposure to automation tools like Terraform, Ansible, and native cloud automation services to automate and streamline processes.
* Cloud Security Knowledge: Exposure to cloud security best practices and compliance frameworks to ensure cloud infrastructure aligns with organizational policies and industry regulations.
* Advanced Automation Skills: Experience with automation tools beyond Terraform, Ansible, and native cloud automation services to further automate and streamline processes.
* Multi-Cloud Expertise: Exposure to managing multiple cloud providers, including Oracle Cloud, Nutanix Cloud, Alibaba Cloud, and others, to effectively support business applications across diverse cloud environments.
