Summary of the Role
The Implementation Principal Engineer acts as the technical lead for complex customer implementations of Amadeus Airport IT and Airport Management solutions. Working in close partnership with the Project Manager, this role is responsible for guiding end‑to‑end delivery across software and hardware implementations, from planning and configuration through testing and go‑live. The role engages with a wide range of customer stakeholders, including senior executives and technical specialists, to deliver reliable solutions and build long‑term, collaborative relationships.
Your Main Responsibilities
Lead the technical delivery of large‑scale implementation projects, including planning, installation, configuration, testing, and go‑live activities, in collaboration with the Project Manager.
Coordinate and drive resolution of technical issues end‑to‑end, providing timely updates, recommendations, and status reporting to internal teams and customer stakeholders.
Work directly with customers on upgrades, installations, architecture discussions, and technical decision‑making, including participation in pre‑sales presentations when required.
Support and facilitate customer testing phases such as Airline Acceptance Testing, User Acceptance Testing (UAT), System Integration Testing (SIT), and Operational Readiness and Airport Transfer (ORAT).
Collaborate across the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) with Business Analysts, Quality Assurance (QA), Operations, and Customer Service teams to ensure quality, continuity, and customer satisfaction.
Brings strong 10+ years experience with airport management systems such as Airport Operational Database (AODB), Flight Resource Management System (FRMS), Flight Information Display System (FIDS), and Financial Management (PropWorks), including configuration and interface design.
Has practical experience working within a Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), from requirements analysis through testing and deployment.
Is comfortable working independently on technical topics while collaborating effectively within cross‑functional and customer‑facing teams.
Communicates clearly and professionally with a range of stakeholders, from technical subject matter experts to senior executive (C‑level) audiences.
Approaches problem‑solving with a structured, proactive mindset and contributes constructively to shared goals and solution design.
