We are the EDA Tools and Libraries team dedicated to supporting all Hardware Design teams at Cisco. Our mission is to empower our customers to deliver high-quality products within fast-paced development cycles, meeting demanding schedules and stringent performance requirements. By streamlining and optimizing the design process, we enable our customers to focus on innovation and product excellence.




Your Impact



  • Library Creation: Create complex schematic symbols and high-density PCB footprints based on manufacturer datasheets and industry standards.
  • Standards Compliance: Ensure all library parts conform to Cisco internal standards for footprints and internal company standards for schematic representation.
  • Validation & Auditing: Perform peer reviews of library parts created by other team members to ensure zero-defect releases.
  • Process Improvement: Develop and document workflows to automate library creation and improve data integrity.

Minimum Qualifications



  • Experience: 5+ years of professional experience in ECAD library management or PCB design.
  • Education: Associate or Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Technology, or a related technical field.
  • Expert-level proficiency in at least one major ECAD tool suite (e.g., Cadence Allegro/OrCAD, Altium Designer, or Siemens Xpedition).
  • Strong familiarity with IPC-7351 (Generic Requirements for Surface Mount Design and Land Pattern Standards).
  • Attention to Detail: Proven ability to interpret complex datasheets and translate them into precise digital models.

Preferred Qualifications



  • Knowledge of AI models and scripting (Python or SKILL) to automate library tasks.
  • Experience working in a high-speed networking or telecommunications hardware environment (e.g., Cisco-style hardware development)
  • Familiarity with Signal Integrity (SI) and Power Integrity (PI) requirements as they relate to component footprints

  • Self-motivated, strong partnership skills, and a commitment to participating in "Best Practice" teams and peer group reviews.
