Could you be the full-time Group Manager for Subsystem (CBC) management team in our dynamic team we’re looking for?


Your future role

You'll contribute to the successful execution of projects by ensuring the sub-system scope of work aligns with our strategic goals. Day-to-day, you’ll work closely with SSM teams and teams across the business (Engineering, R&D, Procurement, Supply Chain), manage risks, and ensure compliance with our high standards and much more.


You’ll specifically take care of cascading and allocating sub-system requirements, planning and monitoring activities, but also leading teams towards achieving project objectives.


We’ll look to you for:


  • Applying project strategy according to defined commitments and targets


  • Actively contributing to overall project performance and risk management


  • Ensuring compliance with our ethical, environmental, safety, quality and industry-specific standards


  • Coordinating and leading sub-system activities and stakeholders


  • Managing interfaces with other sub-systems/components and project teams


  • Representing Alstom to customers and external stakeholders when needed


  • Talent, competency and performance management for the direct reports including right skilled staffing as per business needs
  • Lead the Sub-System Management team, working on various medium / high complex and critical projects. 

Coordinate and synchronize sub-system activities with other sub-Systems and project teams:


  • Actively contribute to the resolution of overarching/transverse optimizations or issues
  • Manage interface with project-level team members & project office (e.g., industrial, control of configuration management, procurement, quality…) and ask, if necessary, for PM arbitration
  • Manage interface with train-level teams (in charge of architecture and integration) and other sub-system teams 
  • Escalation management and conflicts resolution

Performance measurements:


  • Driving the team to deliver on QCDP targets for specific subsystem as per the contractual requirements of the projects, platform development expectations..,
  • Driving the governance to ensure timely completion of project gate/phase reviews, monthly subsystem progress reviews, Financial reviews and track, monitor and control KPI targets.
  • Ensure Compliance with Project Strategy according to defined contractual and Project commitments and targets, as allocated on sub-system.
  • Talent development, retention, performance and competency improvement

  • Experience working in multinational companies and across different business cultures


  • Knowledge of project management processes and methodologies


  • Familiarity with Alstom's operational processes is desirable


  • A certification in project management is advantageous


  • Exceptional communication and leadership skills


  • Entrepreneurial mindset with a focus on results


Educational qualification and experience requirements


  • Master degree or bachelor degree in engineering
  • 10+ years of hands on experience as sub-system/project manager or as Program Manager of a complex / critical project
  • 10+ years of people leadership with functional or direct reporting
  • 20+ Yrs working in and with multi-national companies and in different business cultures
  • IPMA D/C, PMP certification is desirable
