This role is for one of the Weekday's clients Salary range: Rs 100000 - Rs 5500000 (ie INR 1-55 LPA) Min Experience: 15 years Location: Haryana JobType: full-time As a GIS Architect, you will lead the design and implementation of geospatial solutions that support large-scale applications across agriculture and insurance domains.
This role requires deep expertise in spatial data systems, mapping technologies, and analytics to build intelligent, data-driven platforms that enable risk assessment, land analysis, and decision-making.
You will work closely with cross-functional teams to architect scalable GIS frameworks using tools like QGIS and ArcGIS, ensuring seamless integration with business systems and advanced analytics capabilities.
Your focus will be on leveraging geospatial intelligence to drive innovation in farming insights and insurance modeling while ensuring high performance, accuracy, and usability of spatial solutions.
Key Responsibilities Design and implement enterprise-level GIS architectures using QGIS, ArcGIS, and related technologies Develop geospatial solutions for agriculture use cases such as crop monitoring, land mapping, and yield prediction Build GIS-driven frameworks for insurance applications including risk modeling, claims assessment, and location intelligence Integrate spatial data with enterprise systems, APIs, and cloud platforms Lead spatial data modeling, database design, and geoprocessing workflows Oversee data collection, validation, and transformation for accurate geospatial analysis Collaborate with business, analytics, and engineering teams to translate requirements into scalable GIS solutions Optimize performance of GIS systems and ensure high availability and data accuracy Drive adoption of modern geospatial technologies, automation, and advanced analytics Provide technical leadership, mentoring teams, and establishing best practices in GIS architecture What Makes You a Great Fit 15+ years of experience in GIS architecture, geospatial systems, or spatial data engineering Strong expertise in QGIS, ArcGIS, and geospatial data platforms Experience working in agriculture (farming analytics, land intelligence) and/or insurance (risk assessment, underwriting models) Deep understanding of spatial databases, geoprocessing, and mapping technologies Ability to design scalable, high-performance geospatial solutions Experience integrating GIS with cloud platforms and enterprise applications Strong analytical mindset with the ability to translate spatial data into business insights Proven leadership skills with experience mentoring teams and driving large-scale implementations Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities Passion for leveraging geospatial intelligence to solve real-world problems in farming and insurance domains
