  • Work with both structured (Finance systems, ledgers, regulatory datasets) and unstructured data (documents, emails, PDFs, policies).
  • Build and maintain data pipelines to support AI and automation workloads.
  • Ensure data quality, lineage, and traceability are embedded in all solutions.

Prompt Engineering & Model Interaction

  • Apply advanced prompt engineering techniques to ensure reliability, consistency, and auditability.
  • Develop reusable prompt libraries aligned to Finance use cases.
  • Evaluate and optimise model outputs for accuracy, explainability, and compliance.

Finance Transformation & Stakeholder Engagement

  • Understand the end-to-end Finance operating model and change lifecycle; identify transformational opportunities using AI and automation.
  • Translate ambiguous business problems into clear technical designs; explain AI concepts and outputs to non-technical Finance stakeholders.
  • Work closely with stakeholders and SMEs across Finance Transformation, BAU, Data, and IT teams.
  • Execute deliverables in alignment with HSBC Transformation Framework standards.
  • Lead and drive strategic conversations with senior stakeholders, working solo or with teams to deliver complex change.

Continuous Improvement & Knowledge Sharing

  • Simplify and standardise finance processes, ensuring clarity and consistency across varied business units.
  • Provide SME input into change programs and BAU processes.
  • Escalate risks and work collaboratively to resolve challenges impacting agreed outcomes.
  • Demonstrate commitment to continuous learning and a curious mindset, challenging existing processes and identifying opportunities for improvement.

Leadership & Teamwork

  • Strong teamwork across a multilocational team and collaboration with multiple sub-teams, all with a culture of ‘One Team’ to ensure timelines and tracked effectively and issues identified in a timely manner.
  • Supporting those in your team and the broader Finance team to drive effective regulatory compliance and strengthening of the control environment.
  • Values diverse cultures and contributions, encouraging strong, open communication and drives high standards of delivery in others.
  • Embodies a culture of continuous innovation, challenge the business on approach and apply knowledge of relevant latest developments across the regulatory landscape.

  • Experience with structured data engineering (SQL, data modelling, Finance datasets).
  • Experience handling unstructured data (document parsing, chunking, embeddings).
  • Familiarity with RAG retrieval systems, AI orchestration frameworks, advanced prompt engineering, and agentic AI.
  • Experience with APIs, microservices, and deployment patterns.
  • Familiarity with version control (Git) and reproducible development practices.
  • Experience with low/no-code automation tools (e.g., Xceptor, Alteryx) is a plus.
