Role Context
The role is a lead position within the British Council’s global FP&A transformation programme, responsible for designing, developing, testing, and implementing the new FP&A tool solution in partnership with the implementation vendor and wider programme teams. Delivered through an agile, sprint-based approach, the role supports forecasting, budgeting, management reporting, and strategic planning capabilities for Global FP&A. Following implementation, the position will focus on business-as-usual support, continuous improvement, and ongoing platform development.
As part of a high-profile Finance Transformation initiative sponsored by senior leadership, the role plays a critical part in delivering a scalable and efficient planning solution integrated with SAP ECC6.0, Microsoft Azure, and multiple enterprise data sources. The position works closely with global SMEs and stakeholders across FP&A, DEP, Digital & Technology, SAP Master Data, technical support teams, and business planners to support data integration, reporting, and enterprise-wide financial planning capabilities.
Main Responsibilities
The role is responsible for designing, maintaining, and enhancing Anaplan models that support FP&A processes including planning, forecasting, and budgeting. Responsibilities include translating business requirements into scalable model solutions, managing dashboards, master data mappings, integrations, and supporting testing, troubleshooting, documentation, version control, and application support to ensure platform stability and continuous improvement.
The role also works closely with finance teams, FP&A analysts, Digital & Technology, and global stakeholders to deliver enhancements, improve data integration, support users, and drive agile product development initiatives. In addition, the position contributes to training, process design, system optimisation, and ongoing improvement of Anaplan capabilities, while applying strong expertise in FP&A concepts, Excel, Power BI, SAP integrations, and enterprise planning systems.
