Job Title: Financial Controller – NAMER

Location: Chennai support model
Reports to: Head of GBS Finance – Hub Chennai


Role Purpose

The Financial Controller – NAMER is responsible for supporting entity-level controlling activities across North America, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting, strong balance sheet governance, and effective coordination with shared service teams (e.g., Genpact), auditors, and business finance.


This role plays a key part in strengthening financial processes, improving close quality, and supporting audit readiness across multiple entities.


Key ResponsibilitiesFinancial Close & Reporting
  • Support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing activities
  • Ensure timely and accurate financial reporting in line with Group requirements
  • Review P&L and Balance Sheet for accuracy and completeness
  • Monitor and follow up on critical journal entries and accruals
Balance Sheet & Controls
  • Review balance sheet reconciliations for key accounts
  • Ensure compliance with internal control frameworks (e.g., RCX)
  • Identify, escalate, and resolve aged or unusual balances
  • Drive improvements in reconciliation quality and documentation
Audit & Compliance
  • Support external and internal audits
  • Coordinate with auditors and ensure timely delivery of audit requirements
  • Ensure compliance with IFRS and internal accounting policies
Shared Services Coordination (Genpact / GBS)
  • Act as key counterpart to shared service teams (RTR, Tax, etc.)
  • Monitor service quality, timeliness, and accuracy of deliverables
  • Support issue resolution and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Help define and improve ways of working between onshore and offshore teams
Entity & Process Support
  • Provide support for complex entities (e.g., ERP-specific entities like JD Edwards)
  • Act as backup for critical processes (e.g., banking, reporting coordination)
  • Support intercompany processes and reconciliations
Continuous Improvement
  • Identify process gaps and propose improvements in closing, reporting, and controls
  • Support finance transformation initiatives and system implementations
  • Drive standardization and best practices across NAMER entities
Key Stakeholders
  • Head of GBS Finance – Americas
  • Regional Controller (e.g., NAMER Controller)
  • Business Finance teams
  • Shared Services (Genpact – Mexico, India)
  • Group Finance / Group Tax / Treasury
  • External Auditors
Qualifications & Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
  • 6–10 years of experience in financial controlling, accounting, or audit
  • Strong knowledge of IFRS and financial reporting
  • Experience in multinational environments and shared service models
  • Experience working with ERPs (e.g., D365, JD Edwards, Oracle)
  • Strong Excel and financial systems skills (e.g., OneStream is a plus)
