Job Summary
Job Description for Finance Interns (Chartered Accountant/ CA) The Thomson Reuters Decision Support & Insights Group provides decision support and financial planning and analysis to all Segments, Functions and Regions within TR. The Decision Support & Insights Group mission is to support our business partners, and the business unit aligned Finance leaders in the formation and execution of our strategic business plans. Individuals in the Decision Support & Insights Group will be assigned to one of our segments, regions and functions and take direction on activities from business unit finance leadership teams and the DS&I leadership teams. In addition to directly supporting our business partners, the group will accelerate the standardization, simplification, and automation of our key processes across our different business units by sharing and adopting best practices.
About the role:
We are looking for financial CA interns to identify, evaluate and implement simplification and automation projects for Thomson Reuters Finance. The responsibilities for the CA interns would include understanding current workflows, identifying improvement opportunities and implementing/developing processes and workflows for the TR Finance group -using Alteryx, Power BI, etc. The larger goal of these projects would be to simplify, streamline and standardize the existing Finance processes, reports, and analytics.
About you:
Experience : 0 to 3 years
Alteryx, Power BI, Tableau
Work with the Global Finance and Process excellence teams, to understand business requirements, and implement existing simplification and automation ideas. Identify and implement the latest tools and technologies in building efficiency, driving standardization, and improving analytics and visualization using existing tools and technologies. Interact with Global Business and Finance leads to understand feedback, suggestions, impact and incorporate changes accordingly. Understand current processes, and map out areas of possible improvement, best practice sharing, streamlining etc. Document the final process flows/ projects for reference and ease of access in future.
Good knowledge of Finance and Accounting Good Knowledge of MS office- Excel, Power Point Knowledge of automation/visualization tools – VBA/Alteryx/Python/Power BI Knowledge of SAP/ COGNOS (desirable) Good Problem Solving, Analytical and Troubleshooting skills. Able to communicate effectively in writing and verbally. Self-starters with evidence of intellectual curiosity.
Bachelor’s in commerce, ACCA, MBA, CMA, currently pursuing CA, appearing for finals or expecting final results
