Run critical payments foreign exchange operations during Europe hours and help keep global markets moving. In this senior leadership role based in Mumbai, you will strengthen day-to-day execution, lead incident response, and ensure clear, timely escalation. You will partner across Asia and Europe to deliver consistent service outcomes and measurable operational resilience. You will also drive major change initiatives, including same-day currency settlement and currency migration and insourcing delivery. 


Job summary

As an Executive Director in Payments Foreign Exchange Operations, you will provide senior leadership for operations coverage during European working hours from Mumbai, ensuring resilient execution, effective incident management, and strong stakeholder outcomes. You will work with partners across Operations, Product, Technology, Front Office, and Controls to manage risk, resolve issues quickly, and continuously improve service quality. You will also help shape our operating model and lead key delivery workstreams, including same-day currency settlement and currency migration and insourcing. In addition, you will serve as an Information Owner for designated foreign exchange applications, governing access and associated controls.


Job responsibilities
  • Lead payments foreign exchange operations activities during European working hours to ensure accurate, timely, and controlled processing
  • Own senior escalation management, including investigation, prioritization, stakeholder coordination, and end-to-end resolution
  • Drive operational excellence through governance, runbooks, well-defined procedures, and disciplined control execution
  • Build trusted relationships with stakeholders across Asia and Europe, including Operations, Product, Technology, Front Office, Controls, and partner teams
  • Communicate operational performance, incidents, risks, and delivery status through clear, executive-ready updates
  • Represent the function in regional governance forums and service reviews, as needed
  • Shape strategy and operating model evolution, including process simplification, automation opportunities, and resiliency improvements
  • Monitor key operational metrics and prioritize actions that improve stability, quality, and client outcomes
  • Lead operational readiness for same-day currency settlement, including process design, handoffs, exception management, testing support, and go-live stabilization
  • Plan and deliver operational components of currency migrations and insourcing, including cutover coordination, issue triage, and post-migration stabilization
  • Govern application access as an Information Owner by approving, provisioning, recertifying, and evidencing access controls aligned to least-privilege principles
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
  • 15 years of experience in payments operations and/or foreign exchange operations, including settlement processing and exception management
  • 15 years of experience leading time-critical escalations and cross-functional incident resolution across regions and time zones
  • Demonstrated experience executing operational risk and control practices, including evidence retention and remediation of control findings
  • Demonstrated experience delivering operational change initiatives (for example, new settlement capabilities, migrations, or process transformation)
  • Proven ability to partner effectively with stakeholders across Asia and Europe in a multi-time-zone operating model
  • Experience developing and maintaining runbooks, standard operating procedures, and control routines for resilient execution
  • Experience supporting testing readiness and execution for operational change (for example, user acceptance testing support and parallel run planning)
  • Experience with application access governance, including approvals, provisioning, modifications, removals, and periodic access reviews


Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills
  • Experience supporting same-day currency settlement or similar settlement model enhancements
  • Track record leading currency migration and/or insourcing initiatives, including cutover planning and hypercare stabilization
  • Familiarity with audit practices and control testing or attestation disciplines in an operations environment
  • Experience driving operating model improvements, process simplification, and automation opportunities in a control-focused setting
  • Experience partnering closely with Information Security and Technology teams to manage application risk and stability
