General Summary:
We are looking for a Junior Engineer – Ethernet Networking Test with hands-on exposure to Layer 2 / Layer 3 Ethernet networking validation. The candidate should have strong knowledge of networking protocols, manual testing, debugging, and test case creation for networking products.
Primary Responsibilities
- Execute functional and performance testing of Ethernet networking products
- Validate Layer 2 / Layer 3 networking features
- Analyze product requirements and convert them into test plans and test cases
- Perform protocol validation and feature-level debugging
- Execute interoperability and regression testing
- Capture, analyze, and debug traffic using packet analysis tools
- Work independently on assigned testing tasks
Must-Have Technical Skills
- Strong knowledge of L2 / L3 Ethernet networking
- Hands-on experience in manual testing of networking products
- Good understanding of switching, routing, and traffic behavior
- Strong debugging and analytical skills

Working knowledge or hands-on experience with:
- Spirent
- Ixia
- Chariot
- Veriwave
Benchmarking / Test Standards
Awareness or experience in:
- RFC 2544
- RFC 2889
- RFC 3918
Traffic Analysis Tools
- Wireshark
- Ethereal
- AiroPeek / OmniPeek
Operating Systems
Working knowledge of Linux and Windows
Automation / Scripting
Basic scripting knowledge in any one of the following is mandatory:
- Python or
- Perl or
- TCL
Behavioral / Functional Expectations
- Strong analytical and debugging capability
- Ability to understand new features and derive test scenarios
- Ability to create, review, and enhance test cases
- Good ownership in execution and issue tracking
- Good communication and teamwork skills
Preferred / Added Advantage
- WLAN testing exposure
- Experience in certification or standards-based testing
- Exposure to multi-vendor networking environments
