The Role


Weatherford is seeking an experienced Engineering Partner Manager to be our main point of contact for strategic engineering partners. You will coordinate partner resources across software development and electronics hardware projects, delivering on our RD&E and Product Line priorities. This senior management role establishes how we work with partners, sets performance standards, and ensures all partner work meets Weatherford's safety, quality, schedule, cost, and compliance requirements while fitting seamlessly into our Stage-Gate and Engineering Change processes.


Key Responsibilities


  • Establish partner engagement model including governance, escalation paths, and quarterly reviews across software and hardware projects.
  • Build project intake and prioritization to align partner capacity with roadmap demands and release schedules.
  • Own SOWs, deliverables, milestones, and cost controls with partners while verifying earned value before acceptance.
  • Drive quality system adherence ensuring partner outputs are complete, version-controlled, and audit-ready at each gate.
  • Enforce ECN discipline coordinating change approvals and implementation across manufacturing, supply chain, and operations.
  • Manage partner budgets including resource plans, productivity, and invoice validation against delivered value.
  • Maintain transparent communication with stakeholders and partner leadership on scope, risk, cost, quality, and schedule.

Qualifications


  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field required; Master's degree highly advantageous.
  • 8-12 years experience with some years managing external engineering partners in complex product environments.
  • Hands-on exposure to software development and electronics board refresh projects including PCB redesign and compliance.
  • Proven ability running engineering governance, Stage-Gate processes, and ECN change control through implementation.
  • Experience in oilfield services, industrial equipment, or high-reliability safety-critical domains preferred.
  • Available for domestic and international travel up to 50-75%.
