What you’ll do:

"The Technical Content Writer – Brightlayer & Software Platforms is responsible for developing, maintaining, and continuously improving high-quality technical documentation for Eaton's cloud/IoT Platform and other software platforms within the Software Platforms group.
This role translates complex software engineering concepts, cloud architecture, API functionalities, and IoT platform capabilities into clear, accurate, and user-friendly documentation for internal stakeholders, external customers, business partners, and developers. The position collaborates closely with product specialists, software engineers, support teams, and business partners while leveraging AI-assisted tools to enhance productivity, consistency, and quality of technical content"
"1. Create and maintain user guides, platform guides, API docs, FAQs, training materials, and release notes for Brightlayer, Eaton's cloud/IoT platforms.
2. Ensure documentation is clear, accurate, and aligned with Eaton’s branding and style standards.
3. Collaborate with engineers, product specialists, and support teams to gather and validate technical content.
4. Participate in Agile/Scrum meetings and incorporate user feedback to improve documentation.
5. Use AI tools (e.g., ChatGPT, Copilot) to draft and refine content, ensuring consistency and compliance.
6. Manage content in Confluence, SharePoint, and Product Lifecycle Management platforms like Git, Enovia etc.
7. Maintain structured knowledge bases and reusable content templates.
8. Conduct quality reviews to ensure grammatical, technical, and visual accuracy.
9. Apply best practices and continuous improvement methods like Value Stream Mapping.
10. Build deep knowledge of Brightlayer platforms, IoT, cloud (Azure), and edge technologies."



Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Electrical/Electronics/Computer Science) OR Bachelor's degree in English, Communications, Technical Writing with relevant experience in electrical/software domain



Skills:
  •  Minimum 3–6 years of experience in technical documentation, technical writing, or content development for software products, IoT platforms, cloud applications, or engineering-driven environments
  • Demonstrated experience creating API documentation, developer guides, and software platform documentation
    Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments with software development teams"
     Proficient understanding of software platforms, cloud infrastructure (Azure, AWS), and IoT architectures.
    Ability to interpret and document technical specifications, API schemas, architecture diagrams, and engineering data.
     Familiarity with software development lifecycle (SDLC) and Agile methodologies.
    Working knowledge of electrical systems, power management, and industrial monitoring technologies.
    Expertise in documentation tools: Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, Confluence, Jira.
    Skilled in web-based documentation using Markdown, HTML, and CSS.
  • Experience with advanced authoring tools: MadCap Flare, Adobe RoboHelp, Adobe FrameMaker, DITA XML.
     Familiarity with docs-as-code platforms (e.g., GitBook, Docusaurus) and Product Lifecycle Management platforms like Git, Enovia
     Competence in REST API documentation, including endpoint definitions, authentication, and request/response formatting.
    Proficiency in creating technical visuals using Visio, Draw.io.
    Experience with screenshot and video tools such as SnagIt and Camtasia.
    Working knowledge of AI-assisted content tools (e.g., Copilot, Gemini) and in-app guidance platforms (e.g., Pendo).
    Understanding of responsible AI integration in documentation workflows.
    Strong research and analytical skills for understanding and translating complex technical concepts."
