About the Role:


CrowdStrike is looking for an experienced Software Engineer III to join our growing Test Data Team, a critical component of our quality foundations organization. In this role, you'll architect and build sophisticated frameworks, libraries, and tooling that power testing across CrowdStrike's entire service ecosystem.We're looking for people who want to be challenged and take ownership of what they build. What You'll Do:


  • Design and develop scalable test data generation pipelines that support our testing infrastructure


  • Create solutions for generating both realistic and synthetic data (first-party and third-party) to validate complex workflows through data replay scenarios


  • Build robust frameworks and tooling used by engineering teams across CrowdStrike


  • Take ownership of solutions from conception through deployment, ensuring quality, performance and maintenance. 


  • Collaborate with engineering teams across CrowdStrike to understand testing requirements and deliver tooling that meets their specific data needs


  • Implement monitoring, observability, and quality metrics for test data pipelines to ensure reliability and performance at scale


  • Work with cutting-edge technologies in a fast-paced, quality-driven environment


  • Contribute to existing tools, frameworks and related solutions.


  • Leverage new open source solutions to build new tools that test things in new ways.



What You'll Need:


  • 5+ years of combined professional experience as an SDET or Backend Developer (average: 5-7 years)


  • 2+ years building testing frameworks and tooling for a Cloud SaaS product


  • A computer science background or equivalent experience (programming styles, data structures, algorithms, etc.)


  • Experience with modern infrastructure-as-code (Terraform, Ansible) and CI/CD practices.


  • Experience in building and managing large-scale, complex virtualized lab environments (e.g., VMware, KVM, Hyper-V).


  • Strong proficiency in one or more programming languages including Go, Python, Scala, Java, C++, or C#, with demonstrated ability to write clean, maintainable, and efficient code


  • Solid design and problem-solving skills with a demonstrated passion for engineering excellence, quality, security, and performance


Proficient With:


  • Networking: protocols, distributed systems, layered architectures.


  • Web Services: JSON, REST, RPC, XML, AWS EC2 & S3.


  • Data storage: RDMBS and NoSQL databases. Example: PostgreSQL, Cassandra, Redis, and/or MemCache.


  • Strong debugging skills: ability to spot design flaws, race conditions and performance bottlenecks in complex architectures.


  • Computer and/or network security experience/understanding.



Bonus Points:


  • Experience applying AI/ML to testing (e.g., generative models, intelligent test case generation)


  • Authored and led successful open source libraries and projects.


  • Contributions to the open source community (GitHub, Stack Overflow, blogging).


  • Existing exposure to Go, AWS, Cassandra, Kafka, Elasticsearch, GRPC, Docker, Kubernetes, Jenkins
