Job description

1.Should have knowledge of maintenance, trouble shooting & operation of auxiliaries for generator (upto 1000 MW)  like single & double flow seal oil system, stator coil cooling water, lubrication  oil system, jacking oil system, H2 & CO2 handling.


2.Should  have knowledge of electrical testing on stator & rotor manufacturing :


a.Generator stator:


i.Insulation resistance measurement


ii.DC winding resistance


iii.Tan delta & capacitance measurement


iv.Partial discharge measurement


v.NFT of overhang winding


vi.Core loop flux test


vii.ELCID


b.Generator rotor :


i.Insulation resistance measurement


ii.DC winding resistance


iii.Impedance measurement


iv.RSO 


3.Should have knowledge of generator routine & type test during dynamic condition:


a.Temperature rise – heat run


b.Open circuit test


c.Short circuit test


d.Sudden short circuit test


e.Negative sequence & Positive sequence test


f.THF & Voltage waveform deviation


4.Should have knowledge of IEC, ISO standards for electrical testing of generator ( up to 1000 MW)  & High-speed balancing of turbine / generator rotors


5.Should have knowledge of Low speed & high-speed balancing of turbine & generator rotors


6.Should have knowledge of assembly of rotors in high-speed balancing tunnel


a.Able to visually check rotor


b.Able to take TOP / Side clearance of bearing & rotor journal


c.Able to perform alignment of rotor with motor shaft


d.Able to trouble shoot issues pertaining in assembly process


7.Can study P&ID, electrical drawings for maintenance & operation parameters


8.Have a positive approach for trouble shooting of electrical, mechanical & instrumentation issues in generator testing, high speed balancing & 


9.Able to handle unionized workmen in shift, ready to work in shifts


10.Additional Vibration category – 2 certification is preferable


11.Able to handle customer at site for overhauling activities like in-situ balancing, electrical test on generator stator & rotor, calibration of instruments & operation/maintenance of auxiliaries, ready to travel at different sites 


12.Should have knowledge of basic instrumentations/transducers like pressure transmitter, pressure gauge, RTD, Thermocouple etc.


13.Able to operate electrical testing kits like


a.Insulation tester


b.High voltage test set-up


c.Micro-ohm meter


d.PD kit


e.Tan- delta kit


f.Function generator


g.1- phase variac
