Responsibilities


The successful candidate’s role will be as an engineering designer within the 'UK iCRC Local Government./ Communities'
team producing drainage engineering designs and construction drawings. You will be expected to play a proactive part in the design process and be active on a number of projects at any given time.


Key Competencies / Skills:


Mandatory Skills


  • Demonstrable experience in at least 2 of the following areas:
  • Drainage Engineering & Design
  • Development Infrastructure Design
  • Residential Design
  • Design of Sustainable Urban Drainage Systems (SUDS)
  • Hydraulic Design and Modelling
  • Preparation of Development Drainage Strategies
  • You will be computer literate having a working knowledge of drainage design software such as Micro Drainage Windes or similar software packages. A proficiency in AutoCAD, MS Word and MS Excel is also expected.
  • Cultural awareness, an open mind and good English communication skills are essential, along with the ability to work as part of a team. You will be quick to pick up new ideas and skills and be able to think laterally to generate new solutions to problems.

Qualifications:

Desired Skills


  • A good knowledge of UK design codes and legislation such as Sewers for Adoption, and well versed in the preparation of drawings for Section 104 technical approval/adoptions.
  • Flexibility to work on non-drainage highways design. Knowledge of UK highway design including design to gain S38 and S278 technical approvals would be advantageous.
  • Design of UK domestic drainage schemes and external works to gain building regulation approval.

Qualifications


  • B.E. /B. Tech (Civil/Environmental) with 4-8 years post-graduate experience with a consultancy or developer.
