Job Description:
Team: Structures – Thermal Solutions
As part of the Structural Analysis group within the Structures department, the Thermal Solutions team plays a vital role in ensuring aircraft integrity through the thermal assessment of structures and assemblies .
The team extends competencies in the area of Thermal and Multiphysics analysis using FE/FV and CFD based methods.
The primary responsibility of this role is to conduct thermal analysis on aircraft structures under both normal operating and system failure conditions. Additionally, the job holder will utilize CFD-based multiphysics approaches to perform comprehensive thermal evaluations.
Role: Providing structural thermal analysis support to evaluate the impact of thermal loads on aircraft design and structural integrity.
Technical skills required:
Understanding of Aircraft structure and systems.
Profound Thermodynamics, Fluid Dynamics, Heat Transfer, Material properties, Refrigerants and Cooling Systems understanding.
Strong experience of Thermal simulation.
Understanding of aero-thermal environments and systems affecting the temperature of aircraft components.
Strong Hands-on Experience in numerical modelling, 1D analysis (Amesim), NX11, Simcenter 3D, TMG and CFD (Star CCM+, FLUENT) methods and tools.
Understanding of temperature mapping, effect and theories.
Ability to learn new tools and processes to ensure the project deliveries.
Ability to work in collaboration with a team to ensure the quality of the deliverable is must, as the project deliveries may directly contribute towards the certification of the aircraft.
Exposure of operability and in-service aspects.
Awareness of methods & tools development process & automation.
Tools: NX11, Simcenter 3D, NX-IDEAS, TMG, Star CCM+, FLUENT, CATIA
Programming language: Basics knowledge of programming using any language e.g. C, Python, Fortran, JAVA etc… is beneficial
