Job Description

Purpose: Carries out engineering assignments of limited scope and complexity. Performs detailed, routine, and/or customer ordered engineering work. Completes research and development assignments involving calculations and relatively simple tests. Conducts data processing and analysis. Prepares well-defined plans, designs, calculations, costs, and bills of materials in accordance with established codes, standards, and drawings. May assist more senior engineers. Works under moderate supervision, carries out engineering assignments of defined scope. Tasks include detailed, routine, typically difficult but not complex. Completes research and development assignments involving tests, data processing and analysis by following established guidelines. May make adjustments and recommend improvements to the processes. May assist more senior engineers.
Contributions: The role plays a vital role by performing engineering assignments requiring application of standard techniques, procedures, and criteria in carrying out a sequence of related engineering tasks. Serves as subject matter expert in Technical Foundation. Functions as contact for customers and as such has a direct impact on customer satisfaction. The role plays a key contributor role by performing engineering assignments requiring application of standard techniques, procedures, and criteria. Still acquiring higher skills. Has in-depth knowledge in specific technical discipline. Impact is usually at the team level and sometimes at the department level. Functions as contact for customers and as such has a direct impact on customer satisfaction.
