As an Embedded Software Engineer – Sustaining, you will be part of Aptiv’s Sustaining Engineering team, responsible for supporting, enhancing, and maintaining embedded edge software used in automotive data logging and connectivity solutions. This role is hands-on and requires strong problem-solving skills to work with legacy code, production issues, and evolving system requirements within an embedded Linux environment.


YOUR ROLE

· Support, enhance, and maintain embedded edge software for automotive data logging and connectivity solutions
· Investigate, debug, and resolve production and field issues across embedded Linux-based systems
· Work with legacy C++ codebases with limited documentation and operate effectively in ambiguous problem spaces
· Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement fixes, enhancements, and validation activities
· Contribute to continuous improvement of system reliability, performance, and maintainability


YOUR BACKGROUND

· Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field
· 3–5 years of hands-on experience in C++ development within embedded systems
· Strong experience working in embedded Linux environments with shell scripting
· Exposure to automotive networking protocols such as CAN, LIN, and Ethernet
· Background in automotive or embedded product-based organizations preferred
