Siemens Energy is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Excitation Field Service Engineer to join


our Controls Group based in Pune, IND. The successful candidate will be responsible for


providing technical support, maintenance, and troubleshooting services for excitation systems in


power plants and industrial facilities. This role requires a strong understanding of electrical


engineering principles, hands-on experience with excitation systems, and the ability to work


independently in the field


How You’ll Make an Impact


  • Perform installation, commissioning, maintenance, and troubleshooting of excitation
  • systems in power plants and industrial facilities.
  • Conduct routine inspections and preventive maintenance to ensure optimal performance
  • and reliability of excitation systems.
  • Diagnose and resolve technical issues related to excitation systems, including hardware
  • and software components.
  • Provide technical support and training to customers and end-users on the operation and
  • maintenance of excitation systems.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to develop and implement solutions for complex
  • technical problems.
  • Prepare detailed service reports, documentation, and technical manuals for customers and
  • internal use.
  • Ensure compliance with safety standards and regulations while performing field service
  • activities.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry trends, best practices, and advancements in
  • excitation technology

What You Bring


  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or Equivalent or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in field service engineering, preferably with a focus on
  • excitation systems.
  • Strong understanding of electrical engineering principles, power generation, and control
  • systems.
  • Hands-on experience with excitation systems, including installation, commissioning,
  • maintenance, and troubleshooting.
  • Proficiency in using diagnostic tools, test equipment, and software for excitation systems.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently in the field.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to eƯectively interact with customers and
  • team members.
  • Willingness to travel frequently to customer sites, both domestically and internationally.
  • Valid driver's license and the ability to obtain necessary travel documentation.

Zero or low emission power generation and all gas turbines under one roof, steam turbines and generators. Decarbonization opportunities through service offerings, modernization, and digitalization of the fleet.
