The Role


As an Electrical Designer Level I with Worley, you will work closely with our existing team to deliver projects for our clients while continuing to develop your skills and experience etc. 


We are hiring Electrical Designers to support projects in sustainable energy, hydrocarbons, petrochemical, chemical and industrial sectors. These roles will be part of our electrical design teams delivering high quality electrical layouts, models and documentation across the project lifecycle.


Role level, grade and compensation will be aligned with experience, technical capability and demonstrated skills.


Key responsibilitiesDepending on role level and experience, you will be responsible for:


  • independently developing electrical design deliverables with the required interdisciplinary coordination.
  • preparing and checking electrical design deliverables in line with project specifications, applicable standards and Worley procedures.
  • supporting discipline coordination, model reviews, clash checks and resolution of design issues.
  • maintaining design quality, accuracy and consistency across drawings, models and material take offs.
  • supporting constructability, operability and maintainability reviews.
  • adhering to project schedules, quality requirements and health and safety procedures.

Electrical design deliverablesYou will have experience working on, but not limited to:


  • single line diagrams.
  • interconnection diagrams.
  • cable routing layouts.
  • cable tray layouts.
  • underground (UG) cable layouts.
  • power layouts.
  • earthing layouts.
  • lighting layouts.
  • electrical substation equipment layouts.

Tools and software (mandatory)Designers are expected to have hands on working experience with the following tools:2D design platforms


  • AutoCAD
  • MicroStation (2D)
    • effective use of Xrefs.
    • effective use of viewports.

Lighting and calculation tools


  • DIALux evo for lighting design calculations.
  • experience in circuiting, cable tray sizing, trench sizing, and electrical UG duct bank sizing.
  • preparation of material take offs (MTOs).

3D modeling platforms


  • SP3D experience for:
    • electrical 3D modeling.
    • model extractions.
    • clash checks.
    • electrical hierarchy and setup.
    • SP3D admin activities required for electrical modeling and extraction.

About You To be considered for this role it is envisaged you will possess the following attributes:


  • diploma or equivalent technical qualification in electrical engineering or a related discipline.
  • 5 -7 Yrs experience working on sustainable energy, petrochemical, chemical or industrial projects.
  • ability to work independently on electrical design deliverables.
  • strong understanding of electrical layouts, routing philosophy and modeling practices.
  • ability to collaborate effectively with engineers, designers and other disciplines.
