Could you be the full-time Project EHS Manager in Mumbai we’re looking for?
Your future role
Take on a new challenge and apply your expertise in Environment, Health, and Safety (EHS) to a dynamic and fast-paced field. You’ll work alongside collaborative, forward-thinking, and dedicated teammates.
You'll play a pivotal role in ensuring a safe and healthy environment for our people and contractors while minimizing environmental impacts and protecting Alstom’s assets. Day-to-day, you’ll work closely with teams across the business (such as Human Resources, Manufacturing, Platform, and Finance), lead EHS risk assessments, monitor compliance with regulations, and much more.
You’ll specifically take care of implementing and maintaining emergency plans at the project level, as well as monitoring historical pollution and associated risks, but also coaching and assessing EHS teams within the project.
We’ll look to you for:
Supporting project management in achieving EHS performance goals
Ensuring EHS risk assessments are conducted and appropriate measures are implemented
Preparing and maintaining emergency plans
Ensuring sub-contractor activities are controlled with respect to EHS
Stopping operational activities that pose immediate high risks to people or the environment
Deploying Alstom EHS standards and tools, such as the Alstom Zero Deviation Plan (AZDP) and Transport Operational Performance in Environment (TOPE)
Monitoring compliance with statutory, regulatory, contractual, and company requirements
Preparing and implementing EHS training and communication plans
Investigating and analyzing incidents and accidents, and ensuring reporting and documentation
Submitting monthly EHS reports and ensuring data quality

University degree in Engineering, Business, or a related field
Health & Safety qualification recognized by the country’s enforcing authorities (mandatory)
Experience in Environment, Health & Safety (minimum 3 years), with 5-8 years of professional experience in total
Knowledge and understanding of ISO14001 and ISO45001
Familiarity with local legal requirements
Strong teamwork and leadership skills
Initiative and action-oriented mindset
Excellent communication skills
Analytical thinking and a rigorous mindset
Proficiency in computer skills
Experience with continuous improvement tools
A degree-level environmental qualification (desirable)
Experience in railway projects (desirable)
EHS auditing experience (desirable)
