Role Overview

The Deputy Chief SHE Officer will be responsible for implementing and monitoring SHE policies, ensuring compliance with statutory requirements, and driving a culture of safety across the MAHSR T-1 Project. This role demands strong leadership, technical expertise, and hands-on experience in managing large-scale infrastructure projects.


Key Responsibilities
  • Develop, implement, and monitor SHE management systems in line with company and project requirements.


  • Ensure compliance with national and international safety standards, regulations, and codes of practice.


  • Conduct risk assessments, hazard identification, and mitigation planning.


  • Lead incident investigations, root cause analysis, and corrective/preventive action implementation.


  • Organize and oversee SHE training programs, workshops, and awareness campaigns for project staff.


  • Liaise with statutory authorities, consultants, and stakeholders on SHE matters.


  • Prepare and maintain SHE documentation, reports, and audit records.


  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance workplace safety and environmental sustainability.


  • Supervise SHE teams and provide guidance to junior officers and site staff.


Qualifications (Minimum Requirement)

Candidates must hold any one of the following qualifications:


  1. Full-time regular B.E/B. Tech with Govt.-recognized full-time regular Diploma in Safety.


  2. Full-time regular B.E/B. Tech in Safety.


  3. Govt.-recognized full-time PG Degree in Environmental Engineering/Sciences with full-time Govt.-recognized Safety Diploma/Degree.


  4. Full-time regular Science Degree with International Qualifications such as CSP (Certified Safety Professional) or NEBOSH Diploma.


  5. Recognized Degree in any branch of Engineering with International Qualifications such as CSP (Certified Safety Professional) or NEBOSH Diploma.


Experience
  • Minimum 12 years of professional experience in Safety, Health & Environment roles.


  • At least 5 years of experience in similar works (large-scale infrastructure/transportation projects preferred).


Desired Skills
  • Strong knowledge of SHE regulations, standards, and best practices.


  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.


  • Ability to manage SHE audits, inspections, and compliance reporting.


  • Proficiency in incident investigation and risk management.


  • Capability to train and mentor teams on SHE practices.
