Hitachi Energy, Business Unit Service, is seeking an experienced Supply Chain Management Specialist to join our innovative and forward-thinking team. In this role, you will integrate cross-functional efforts with supply chain strategies, driving innovation and optimizing the flow of materials and information to align product development timelines with supply capabilities. You will enhance product quality, reduce costs, and support sustainable practices, contributing to the successful launch of ground breaking products that meet customer and stakeholder needs. How you'll make an impact:
Work together with R&D team, Project team, Product Managers, SCM category managers, transactional buyers and supplier quality engineers to ensure that digital devices and solutions are procured, produced and delivered on budget, on time and with quality to our project sites worldwide.
Integrate supply chain knowledge into the R&D process to optimize cost, quality, and technical performance. Translate engineering requests into supply chain requirements and coordinate actions in line with company procedures. Collaborate with R&D and supply chain teams to align initiatives and facilitate cross-functional meetings to achieve common goals.
Identify, evaluate and manage relationships with global suppliers. Control appropriate time response from suppliers and meet internal demands and schedules. Run benchmark studies, whenever required for specific sourcing initiatives.
Identify potential supply chain risks and develop contingency plans to mitigate disruptions as part of risk management.
Negotiate and manage contracts, including maintenance in SAP Ariba, for digital devices and solutions.
Request, seek, escalate and communicate in a timely manner. Establish clear and transparent communication internally, externally, and between different divisions, business units and functions and supports the implementation of SCM activities and initiative.
Incorporate sustainability into supply chain management, supporting R&D’s commitment to sustainable practices.
You will be responsible to ensure compliance with applicable external and internal regulations, procedures, and guidelines.

Your background:
You should hold a degree in Engineering.
You should have a minimum of 5 years of experience in supply chain and a successful track record in International Strategic Sourcing.
Experience navigating in an intercultural, multi-business environment, promoting cultural sensitivity and understanding.
Analytical thinker, skilled communicator, and proactive problem-solver, have a solid grasp of data analysis and forecasting methodologies.
Capable of inspiring team members in a complex matrix environment, fostering diversity and inclusion. Comfortable with travel around 10% of the time.
Your command of English is excellent, both written and spoken, with negotiation-level fluency.
