Thales India Engineering Competency Center in Bangalore is seeking a Technical Lead role to be part of Hardware engineering team. In this role he/she will be responsible for generating reliable, cost effective, customized Electronics systems design, Obsolescence redesign for avionics products to meet the customer requirements as well as governing regulatory standards (DO-160, DO-254, MIL-STD, etc.).


Qualifications: B.Tech in Electronics & Communication or Electrical engineering or equivalent with 12+ years of relevant experience. Master Degree in Electronics & Communication preferable.


Technical Skills and Competencies:


  • Must have strong experience in Product design and development from requirements to Conceptual design to architectural design to detailed design and analysis
  • Must have Strong knowledge in Specification, design and verification of electronic boards (including digital functions)
  • Must have strong experience with various FPGA, Microcontroller and Embedded microprocessor                              
  • Must have strong knowledge in 10/100/1000 Mbps Ethernet, PCIe DDR2, DDR3, high speed NOR and NAND Flash Interface
  • Must have strong knowledge of using UART RS-232, RS-422, RS-485, I2C, SPI
  • Must have strong knowledge with Ethernet Interface, PCIe, SMPTE, USB, ARINC-429 and CAN
  • Must have Strong hands on experience in design software (Cadence design entry HDL and  Allegro PCB)
  • Must have hands on experience in Circuit Simulation using pSPICE and LTSPICE simulation tool
  • Should have experience of working with multi-disciplinary team (For effective design for power supply, understanding Load requirements, PCB layout team, Mechanical team, and suppliers)
  • Should have good experience with any signal Integrity and Power Integrity Simulation tools (Example: Caxence Sigrity, Ansysy SIWave/HFSS, Mentor Graphics Hyperlynx etc.)
  • Should have experience is EMI/EMC filter design and components selection
  • Should have knowledge in aeronautics standards DO160 and DO254.
  • Should have good experience in electronics components selection and analysis for avionics products.
  • Should be very familiar with lab measuring equipment. Ex: Oscilloscope, Waveform Generator, Spectrum Analyzer, Network analyzer etc.
  • Good to have experience in designing low to high power analog electronic boards (for example, power supply, signal processing etc) for avionics Industry
  • Definition of electrical schematics and building blocks
  • Manufacturing failures analysis / Root cause analysis
  • Test procedures definition and execution
  • Component obsolescence treatment : alternative solution identification, definition/design of the solution and verification
