Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced, hands-on Staff DevOps Engineer to design and develop highly scalable, performant infrastructure and automation frameworks. The ideal candidate is deeply skilled in Cloud-Native ecosystems, Infrastructure as Code (IaC), and secure CI/CD orchestration.

In this role, you will act as a core technical contributor, leveraging your expertise in AWS, Kubernetes, and Kafka to build robust, self-healing platforms that support our Java/Spring Boot and React-based microservices architecture.

Key Responsibilities
  • Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Execute complex infrastructure efforts, managing multi-environment setups using Terraform, Terragrunt, and Ansible to ensure consistency and speed.
  • Orchestration & Scale: Design and manage enterprise-grade Kubernetes clusters (including Rancher-managed and AWS EKS) to ensure high availability for containerized applications.
  • CI/CD & DevSecOps: Build and optimize automated pipelines using GitHub Actions and Jenkins, integrating SAST/DAST scanning and SonarQube to ensure high code quality and security standards.
  • Data & Messaging Reliability: Manage and tune high-throughput Apache Kafka (On-Prem and MSK) and diverse data layers including PostgreSQL, Oracle, Redis, and MongoDB.
  • Observability & Monitoring: Implement comprehensive monitoring and logging strategies using the ELK Stack and Prometheus to provide deep visibility into system health.
  • Advanced Networking: Configure and maintain high-performance networking components including F5 Load Balancers, ALB/NLB, and Apache HTTPD within a Linux-heavy environment.
  • Automation & Tooling: Develop custom automation tools and scripts using Python and Shell to eliminate manual toil and optimize system performance.
  • Communication & Collaboration: Articulate complex technical challenges and infrastructure roadmaps clearly to cross-functional partners in Product, UX, and QA.

Qualifications
  • Experience: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in computer science/engineering with 6+ years of DevOps or site reliability engineering experience.
  • Cloud & Provisioning: Deep expertise in AWS services and infrastructure automation using Terraform and Terragrunt.
  • Container Mastery: Strong hands-on experience with Docker, Kubernetes (K8s), and Helm for managing microservices at scale.
  • Security First Mindset: Proven expertise in securing secrets via HashiCorp Vault and implementing security scanning within the lifecycle.
  • Database & Middleware: Strong proficiency in managing Relational (Oracle, Postgres) and NoSQL (Redis, MongoDB) stores, along with advanced Kafka administration.
  • Networking Fundamentals: Strong grasp of Linux internals, TCP/IP networking, and load-balancing strategies.
  • Core Fundamentals: Solid understanding of system design, distributed computing, and concurrency patterns.
  • Tooling: Proficient with Git/GitHub, Maven/Gradle, Grafana, and Kibana.

Nice to Have
  • Workflow Orchestration: Experience with workflow engines such as Temporal or Camunda for process automation.
  • Network Automation: Familiarity with network device protocols (gNMI, SNMP) or programmable infrastructure.
  • AI/ML Ops: Experience or interest in supporting AI development areas: NLP, predictive analytics, or LLM infrastructure.
  • Advanced Polyglot Skills: Experience with Golang for high-performance systems programming.
  • Hybrid Cloud: Experience managing seamless integration between On-Prem data centers and Public Cloud environments.
