A day in the life of an Infoscion
* Design, develop, and maintain ETL jobs using IBM InfoSphere DataStage
Develop Parallel, Server, and Sequence jobs to support data integration requirements
Perform data extraction, transformation, and loading from multiple heterogeneous data sources
Optimize DataStage jobs for performance, scalability, and reliability
Handle job scheduling, monitoring, failure analysis, and recovery
Implement data validation, reconciliation, and error-handling mechanisms
Work with large datasets and complex data transformations
Collaborate with business analysts, data architects, and stakeholders to understand requirements
Support production deployments, enhancements, and ongoing maintenance
Document ETL designs, job logic, and operational procedures
Experience with DataStage QualityStage or other IBM Information Server components
Exposure to cloud data platforms (Azure, AWS, GCP)
Knowledge of migration from DataStage to cloud ETL tools
IBM DataStage certification
Experience working in Agile / Scrum environments

5-9 years of overall experience in ETL / data integration development
Strong hands-on experience with IBM InfoSphere DataStage
Proficient in developing Parallel Jobs, Server Jobs, and Sequences
Solid understanding of data warehousing concepts and ETL architecture
Strong SQL skills and experience with RDBMS (Oracle, DB2, SQL Server, etc.)
Experience with UNIX/Linux environment and shell scripting
Hands-on experience with performance tuning and troubleshooting
Knowledge of batch scheduling and production support processes
Strong analytical, debugging, and communication skills
