Role Overview

We are looking for a CPQ Data Modeling & Automation Specialist to join our dynamic team responsible for modeling Xylem products in Tacton CPQ. This role blends engineering knowledge, data modeling expertise, and software automation skills to ensure accurate, scalable, and efficient product configurations.

You’ll work closely with technical documentation, engineering teams, and business stakeholders to structure product data, implement configuration logic, and support automation initiatives that improve data quality and reduce manual effort.

Key Responsibilities

Product Modeling & Configuration

- Gather product requirements from engineering documents, brochures, and engineering documents.

- Structure and model product data in Tacton CPQ using constraints, rules, and dependencies.

- Design user-friendly configuration interfaces and implement smart part number logic.

Automation & Quality Assurance

- Develop scripts/tools (e.g., Python, VBA) to automate data validation and error detection.

- Build workflows to streamline data loading and testing processes.

- Support internal and external flow testing and QA automation.

Data Integration & Management

- Collect and organize material, motor, and dimensional data into the product database, and ensure it is properly integrated with the product configuration system. The data should dynamically respond to user selections during the configuration process, displaying only relevant options based on chosen parameters.

- Collaborate with pricing teams to integrate IPL tables and dynamic pricing modules.

Support & Collaboration

- Work cross-functionally with Engineering, Marketing, and Product Management.

- Collaborate with integration teams and support API-based communication between Tacton CPQ and custom web applications. Assist in debugging and resolving integration-related issues from a modeling perspective.

Qualifications

- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or Mechanical Engineering with strong software skills.

- 3+ years of experience in CPQ modeling, preferably with Tacton CPQ.

- Proficiency in Excel, Python, VBA, or similar scripting tools.

- Experience in data validation, automation, and quality control.

- Understanding of API integration concepts, especially in relation to Tacton CPQ and custom web applications. Ability to debug and support integration-related issues.

- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.

- Familiarity with Agile methodologies, JIRA, and PLM/ERP systems is a plus.

Join the global Xylem team to be a part of innovative technology solutions transforming water usage, conservation, and re-use. Our products impact public utilities, industrial sectors, residential areas, and commercial buildings, with a commitment to providing smart metering, network technologies, and advanced analytics for water, electric, and gas utilities. Partner with us in creating a world where water challenges are met with ingenuity and dedication; where we recognize the power of inclusion and belonging in driving innovation and allowing us to compete more effectively around the world.
