Job description

HackerRank helps companies like NVIDIA, Amazon, and Microsoft hire and upskill the next generation of developers based on skills, not pedigree. Our platform is trusted by over 2,500 of the world’s most innovative companies to build strong engineering teams ready for what’s next.
Software has entered an era where humans and AI build side by side. As this shift accelerates, the definition of strong technical talent is changing. We give companies better ways to identify and invest in next-generation skills.
People at HackerRank care deeply about the impact of their work and sweat the small details so our customers can be wildly successful with products they genuinely love to use. We move with urgency and believe great outcomes come from high standards

About the role:

At HackerRank, content is how we shape the conversation around skills-first hiring, developer growth, and the future of technical talent. As a Content Writer, you will own the full journey from brief to published  writing LinkedIn posts, Twitter threads, product narratives, scripts, and long-form pieces that are sharp, specific, and built for audiences who can tell good writing from filler.

What you’ll do
  • Write across formats LinkedIn posts, Twitter/X threads, product narratives, video scripts, and long-form editorial  moving from brief to polished draft without needing multiple alignment rounds.
  • Use Claude Code, ChatGPT, or similar AI tools to accelerate first drafts, then edit aggressively for voice, specificity, and stakes.
  • Build content as a system develop pillar topics, maintain narrative arcs across a content calendar, and design pieces for reuse across channels.
  • Adapt tone and message for distinct B2B audiences  CHROs, engineering leaders, recruiters, and developers  without collapsing them into the same corporate voice.
  • Attend events, offsites, and customer conversations as an active listener and input-gatherer, turning those signals into content that reflects real stakes.
  • Collaborate directly with product, marketing, and sales teams to translate roadmap updates, customer insights, and campaign themes into compelling copy.
Who you are
  • 2–5 years of content writing experience in a B2B SaaS, tech, or developer-tools environment, with a portfolio that shows range across formats.
  • Strong instinct for audience segmentation and you write differently for a CHRO than for an engineering leader, and it shows.
  • Proven ability to hold strategy and execution simultaneously: you can take a content brief and run with it, without four rounds of alignment.
  • Comfortable with AI writing tools (Claude, ChatGPT, Notion AI) as part of your daily workflow and you use them to go faster, not to avoid thinking.
  • Skilled at building content systems, not just one-off pieces you think about pillar topics, reuse, and narrative arcs across a calendar.
Even better if you have
  • Experience writing for developer or HR tech audiences  you understand what resonates with people who can smell a generic take from a mile away.
  • Familiarity with SEO fundamentals and content distribution strategy, not just production.
  • A background in or strong interest in the talent, hiring, or skills-development space.
  • Experience building or contributing to a content calendar from scratch, not just executing against one.
You will thrive in this role if
  • Being in the room matters to you. Customer calls, events and off-sites are inputs, not distractions.
  • Content is infrastructure in your mind, not just output system, reuse and long-term narrative come before the first word.
  • Fast iteration is your default shipping a draft that is 80% there beats waiting for perfection.
