Title and Summary

Consultant, Performance Analytics
An L8 Consultant in Performance Analytics (PA) is an independent, analytically strong consultant who translates complex data into clear, actionable insights for clients. The role sits at the core of project execution—owning defined workstreams, leading analyses end‑to‑end, and contributing meaningfully to client-facing deliverables while mentoring junior team members.
Performance Analytics consultants focus on leveraging Mastercard and client data, advanced analytical techniques, and enterprise analytics tools to support strategy, performance improvement, and operational decision-making.
Key Responsibilities
Client Delivery & Analytics Execution
Independently execute complex quantitative and qualitative analyses with limited oversight, including unfamiliar or ambiguous problem statements
Translate business questions into structured analytical approaches and clearly document methodology, assumptions, and implications
Synthesize analytical outputs into clear recommendations and client-ready narratives (slides, dashboards, readouts)
Own day-to-day execution of assigned analysis workstreams, including task planning, prioritization, and quality control
Performance Analytics Expertise
Leverage Mastercard data assets and client data to design and scale analytical solutions that drive client impact
Apply advanced analytics techniques using enterprise tools and platforms such as Python, Hadoop, Spark, Kafka, Impala, NiFi, and related data environments
Identify opportunities to codify and automate repeatable analyses, improving efficiency and scalability of delivery
Client & Stakeholder Engagement
Interface confidently with junior to mid-level client stakeholders, explaining complex analyses in simple, decision-oriented language
Proactively identify risks, dependencies, and next steps, escalating appropriately to Project Managers or Engagement Leads
Demonstrate strong understanding of the client’s business context, priorities, and industry dynamics
Team Leadership & Firm Contribution
Act as a mentor to junior consultants —reviewing work, guiding analytical approach, and reinforcing best practices
Contribute to knowledge management, solution development, and firm initiatives beyond immediate project work
Collaborate effectively with Product, Data Engineering, and other A&CS practices to enhance client solutions
Skills & Capabilities
Analytical & Technical Skills
Strong analytical problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently on complex datasets
Hands-on experience with data analysis, modeling, and insight generation using modern analytics tools and languages
Ability to balance rigor with pragmatism (effective 80/20 judgment) when delivering under time or scope constraints
Consulting & Communication Skills
Clear, structured communication—written, verbal, and visual—especially when explaining technical insights to non-technical audiences
Strong ownership mindset: proactive, detail-oriented, and accountable for quality and outcomes
Comfortable handling ambiguity and adapting analytical approaches as client needs evolve

Corporate Security Responsibility
