Construction engineer – Piping & Structural

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced offshore senior hook-up / construction engineer (Piping & Structural) to support the ongoing offshore project with significant brownfield scope



The ideal candidate will have a strong background in oil and gas offshore brownfield hookup/construction specifically structural / piping, with a focus on hands-on experience managing construction works on a live operating brownfield project.



The role will involve in supporting the design engineering team by providing valuable construction inputs to the offshore platform design (especially related to piping, structural).



Responsibilities:



  • Provide technical expertise and guidance to the engineering team for resolving construction-related issues and challenges specific to structural and piping scopes.
  • Lead internal constructability sessions especially related to structural and piping and also have an overview of E&I construction – keeping in mind, brownfield space constraints, cranage limitations, minimising hot work and other challenges
  • Develop design solutions that minimize offshore downtime, focusing on SIMOPS (Simultaneous Operations) and "Hot Bolting/Cold Cutting" tie-in philosophies.
  • Conduct detailed reviews of engineering deliverables, especially piping and structural, to ensure they are physically installable on a live operating offshore platform with minimal disruption to production
  • Act as the primary bridge between the KBR’s Design Engineering team and the Offshore Construction Contractor to resolve technical queries (TQs) and ensure "design-for-construction" principles are met and adhering to the safety standards
  • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities to address construction challenges
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills to liaise with internal and external stakeholders and build strong working relationships.
  • Familiarity with HSE standards and practices in offshore construction, with a commitment to promoting a safety-focused work environment.

 Requirements



  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, preferably in mechanical / structural
  • Overall 15 years in oil and gas EPC projects out of which a minimum of 10+ years of hands-on experience in offshore brownfield/hook-up activities (Piping & Structural focus) specifically working in operating platforms
  • Must possess T-BOSIET and H2S certifications for any offshore site surveys and data verification
  • In-depth knowledge of offshore construction practices, procedures, and regulations
  • Good communication skills and Proven ability working in multi-functional team
