About the role :



  • Researching relevant business and legal issues for high-quality conference targeting the legal market
  • Developing programs and sourcing content for Thomson Reuters legal media group event portfolio, including writing agendas and confirming speakers
  • Responsible for onsite delivery and management of events across Asia
  • Managing ongoing relationships with speakers and other relevant event partners
  • Identifying spaces in the market and developing events of various types in order to take advantage of these gaps
  • Overall marketing of the event, including (but not limited to)
  • Understanding database limitations and identifying strategies to overcome this
  • Arranging email and mailing campaigns, and carrying these out in order to maximise event attendance
  • Briefing sponsorship teams to garner sponsorship for the event and drive attendance numbers and revenue
  • Liaising with additional teams across Thomson Reuters Asia and cooperating closely with them with regard to both marketing for the events and event delivery
  • Plan and execute meetings, conferences, trade shows and customer related events; own the outcome of such events
  • Partner with Field Sales to staff events, and/or document sales and distribute leads
  • Support initiatives and corporate priorities by planning, coordinating, implementing and analyzing trade show marketing and event activities
  • Creatively leverage Thomson Reuters event presence and spend to ensure maximum exposure for the brand 

About you :



  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in a conference, event or research role
  • Educated to degree level or higher
  • Able to demonstrate strong research abilities and quickly understand a wide range of topics
  • Strong telephone and interpersonal skills
  • Focus on time management and ability to focus on a number of different projects at any one time
  • Ability to work and think independently of a team
  • Strong communication and persuasive skills
  • Have managed entire projects at scale and/or portfolios, and/or grown commercial events/products from scratch
  • Highly competent in research via the internet and interviews with experts
  • Ability to write strong marketing and promotional copy for events and conferences
  • Strong organizational, record keeping and time management systems
  • Knowledge of the legal industry in SE Asia is beneficial but not essential.
