Role Overview
The commodities business is looking for a Manager to Senior Manager level desk strategist located in Mumbai, to support desk with the build out, maintenance and support of the trade/sales platform.
The candidate will be part of the Commodities Strats team and will work to provide tooling, timely and accurate data, and analysis across the various Morgan Stanley commodity trading desks. This is a broad and technical role and will involve tasks related to: assisting with the expansion of products on offer, assisting with the execution of specific client-driven requests and business analysis/translating of requirements for systems enhancements. The candidate should expect to gain familiarity with all commodity products.
 


Role Responsibilities


  • Understand existing systems and infrastructure. Assist in ongoing firmwide strategic projects.


  • The role would eventually align to a trading desk and provide mentorship/leadership opportunity.


  • Understand traded products/payoffs and mathematical pricer, maintain model and enhancement.


  • Perform data analysis, modelling and assist with quantitative support to the Trading desk.


  • Work with controllers and the model risk groups on model documentation and approval.


Key Skills and Experience


  • Graduate up to 8 years of work experience. Degree in quantitative subjects.


  • Ability to work closely with Sales/Traders, Tech and Risk teams.


  • Programming experience in Python. Preferable to have C++/Java/Scala experience.


  • Must be proactive in identifying opportunities to add value to trading desk.


  • Good analytical, problem solving and communication skills.


Preferred Skills and Experience


  • Preferred knowledge of at least one of European Power and Gas, LNG, Oil, and North American Power and Gas markets.
