Required skills and experience:
• 1/2+ years of experience working with Azure or AWS or any other major cloud platform technologies
• Provisioning, operating, and maintaining systems running on Azure or AWS including deployment/teardown and automation support
• Understanding of cloud platforms including IaaS & PaaS components, for example: Azure Virtual Machines/EC2 Instances, Storage Accounts/S3 buckets, Network Security Groups, vNets, VPCs, Azure App Services/AWS Lambda, Kubernetes basics etc
• Exposure to scripting or automation tools (e.g., PowerShell, Python, Bash, Azure CLI, AWS CLI) is desirable
• Understanding of Infrastructure as code (IaC) and CI/CD pipeline concepts – example: Terraform, Gitlab, ADO
• Good practical experience with Windows and Linux operating systems, including administration tasks such as OS configuration, patching, user management, system monitoring, and troubleshooting
• Knowledge of network (LAN, WAN, VPN) and web related protocols (e.g. TCP/IP, UDP, HTTP, HTTPS)
• Exposure to monitoring tools such as Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, Application Insights or AWS CloudWatch is desirable
• Understanding of backup and patching concepts in cloud environments
• Awareness of security concepts such as RBAC, IAM roles, access provisioning and secure configurations
• Good awareness of cloud platform capabilities and willingness to learn new features
• Knowledge on installation, configuration, usage of CLI tools to manage cloud components is desirable
• Experience with documentation and following operational runbooks is desirable
• Good troubleshooting and analytical skills for cloud issues
• Understanding of ITIL/ITSM processes including incident/request management. ServiceNow exposure is a bonus
• Good to have: Awareness of AI concepts and their applicability in IT operations (e.g., automation, monitoring insights)
• Prior experience in Life Sciences area is also a bonus. Other highly regulated industry experience will be considered also
Education/certification:
• Degree level educated, preferably in science, maths or engineering areas.
• Azure or AWS Fundamentals level certification is preferred.
