a) Simulate and analyze the implication of engine component/system/layout changes on engine performance (Torque, BSFC, Emission)
b) Publish engine performance simulation reports and help set performance targets for torque/power.
c) Propose new technologies /simulation methods to improve performance,redcue cost or resolve concerns
d) Analyze engine test data and explain causes for deviations between predicted performance and tested performance.
e) Evaluate and implement new methods of engine performance simulation (1-D) as part of capability building
f) Engine predictive combustion modelling engine part throttle modelling and emissions predictions
g) Knowledge on diesel and alternative fuel aftertreatemnt systems modelling and working
h) Knowledge on engine combustion systems and emissions modelling
i) Coordination with CAE & review of simulation.
j) Conceptulization of System & sub system of Diesel/Gasoline engine in 3D layout
k) Layout & interface review with DFA & DFS requirment
l) Preparation & review of 2D drawings with DFA, DFM points, Tolerance Stack-up & review of GD& T
Overall Experience: 4-5 years
3 yrs minimum experience in 1D Simulation/3D Fire
Automobile, Offroad Engines
ME/M-Tech Preferred
Fidelity to adapt to challenging situations
Good communication skills
Exposure to Engine Testing & Farm Equipment
Hands on experience in Root Cause analysis of Engine Components
Exposure to Manufacturing processes
Basics of CAE & CFD
Functional Competencies:
Experience on 3D CAD tools - UG 9.0 or above will be added advantage
GD&T, Tolerance stack up analysis, DFMEA
Basic knowledge of PLM/Teamcenter
Basics of bolts and bolt calculations
Design Calculations for Engine Components
