The Catastrophe Modeling Analyst II is a mid-level role responsible for independently managing medium-to-complex tasks. This role involves advanced exposure data preparation and validation, accurate configuration of insurance and reinsurance financial structures, execution of catastrophe models, and detailed loss analysis.
The Analyst II also performs peer review and quality audits of accounts prepared by junior analysts, ensuring high accuracy standards while meeting defined turnaround times.

Independently prepare, cleanse, and validate exposure data across multiple lines of business
Accurately map coverage, occupancy, construction, year built, COPE attributes, and secondary modifiers
Perform advanced geographic validation and geocoding checks (U.S. and international)
Configure insurance and reinsurance financial structures including limits, deductibles, layers, aggregates, attachment, and exhaustion points
Interpret slips and apply contract wordings appropriately
Execute catastrophe models (Earthquake, Wind, Flood, and other perils as applicable)
Analyze model outputs including EP curves, AAL, PML, and loss drivers
Perform peer review, quality checks, and quality audits of Analyst I accounts
Identify discrepancies and provide structured feedback and escalation where required
Maintain workflow tracking, portal time updates, and reporting accuracy
Meet defined turnaround time (TAT) and quality benchmarks
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (complex formulas, pivot tables, data reconciliation, validation checks)
Intermediate knowledge of SQL
Strong understanding of insurance and reinsurance fundamentals
Working knowledge of catastrophe modeling platforms (e.g., Touchstone or equivalent)
Ability to interpret EP curves, AAL, and PML metrics independently
Strong analytical mindset with high attention to detail
Ability to manage multiple accounts and work under tight deadlines
Clear written and verbal communication skills
