Technical Business Analyst
(Merchant Acquiring & Payment Gateway)

Role Summary
We are looking for a Technical Business Analyst to support and drive delivery for our Merchant Acquiring and Payment Gateway platform. The role involves owning end‑to‑end requirements and solution analysis for complex payment workflows, working closely with Product, Engineering, Risk, and Compliance teams to deliver reliable, compliant, and scalable payment solutions.
Key Responsibilities
Own requirements for payment flows including authorization, capture, refund, settlement, reconciliation, and chargebacks.
Translate business and regulatory needs into clear functional and technical requirements.
Analyze end‑to‑end payment systems involving merchants, gateways, acquirers, networks, issuers, PSPs, and fraud systems.
Provide solution options with system impact, data flow, and integration considerations.
Support backlog refinement, sprint planning, UAT, test case reviews, and defect triage.
Work with engineering to clarify requirements and reduce delivery risks.
Ensure alignment with PCI‑DSS, SCA/3DS, network mandates, and local regulations.
Coordinate with internal stakeholders and external partners where required.
Guide junior analysts and contribute to process and documentation improvements.
Required Qualifications
6–10+ years of experience as a Business Analyst / Technical Business Analyst.
Strong hands‑on experience in Merchant Acquiring and Payment Gateway systems with solid understanding of concepts in payments like EMV, Tokenization, APM's, 3DSecure, Payments protocol formats, etc.
Solid understanding of APIs, integrations, distributed systems, and data flows.
Experience working in Agile (Scrum/Kanban) environments.
Strong analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
Preferred
Experience working with card networks, banks, or PSPs.
Knowledge of payment reliability concepts (latency, retries, idempotency, SLAs).
Familiarity with tools like JIRA, Confluence, Postman, BPMN/UML.
