The CTMC (Biz Ops React) team is seeking a BizOps Engineer I.
As Business Operations Engineers, we ensure platform stability through robust monitoring and adherence to software run principles. Our responsibilities include:
• Implementing changes, designing operational processes, and driving automation.
• Building fault-tolerant, scalable products through proactive monitoring.
• Managing daily operations with a strong focus on triage and root cause analysis, understanding business impact, and conducting blameless post-mortems.
• Proactively managing production and change activities to maximize customer experience and application value.
• Mitigating risk and ensuring compliance across all environments.
• Aligning product and customer priorities with operational needs by providing continuous feedback throughout the lifecycle.

All About You
You will:
○ Work with a global team across multiple geographies and time zones, including shift rotations for change deployment and on-call support.
○ Engage in the full lifecycle of services—from inception and design through deployment, operation, and refinement.
○ Support services pre-launch via system design consulting, capacity planning, and launch reviews.
○ Maintain live services by monitoring availability, latency, and overall system health.
○ Scale systems sustainably through automation and advocate for changes that improve reliability and velocity.
○ Support the application CI/CD pipeline for software promotion through validation and operational gating, and lead Mastercard in DevOps automation and best practices.
○ Practice sustainable incident response and blameless postmortems.
○ Take a holistic approach to problem-solving during production events, connecting the dots across the technology stack to optimize mean time to recovery.

Qualifications
§ Education: BS/BE in Computer Science or related technical field (or equivalent practical experience).
§ Technical Skills:
□ Algorithms, data structures, scripting, pipeline management, and software design.
□ Debugging and optimizing code; automating routine tasks.
§ Soft Skills:
□ Systematic problem-solving approach.
□ Strong communication skills, ownership, and drive.
□ Ability to make decisions under pressure and handle difficult situations.
□ Preferred Experience:
® Technologies: Java, Splunk, Linux, Postgres, Oracle, Kafka, PCF, Cloud.
® CI/CD tools: Git/BitBucket, Jenkins, Maven, Artifactory, XLR, Chef.
□ Mindset:
Appetite for change and pushing automation boundaries.
